That box art for the Wii U is real, says Nintendo

Just in case Ubisoft’s confirmation wasn’t clear enough, Nintendo has confirmed that those recent box art images for various Wii U titles are real. The box art for first-party titles will arrive “shortly”, although no specific time-frame was given. I’m thinking the end of September seems likely.

    Well nice to know its confirmed by 2 companies now (AND one of them s Nintendo)
    When I firts saw this I was really impressed and I just hoped it wouldnt be a fake.Im really glad it wasnt :D
    But to the quote:” The box art for first-party titles will arrive “shortly”,[...]“-Does this mean the Nintendo games will have a differeent one? r does it just mean theyll show the ones from NSMBU,Wii Fit U and so on?

      Dunno. But I think it would be really cool if the 1st party box art is different somehow.

      I think they men that the box art is official. I don’t think they mean that the top banner that says “Wii U” if official. They might be talking about the games’ specific box art rather than the box art for all Wii U games.

    I really like the box art. And confirmation of images is always nice. It looks like the cool child of Wii box art and GameCube box art.

    I’m pretty sure I said this was confirmed by Nintendo in the last article about the Wii U box art. But anyway, the two games that would compliment this box art to the fullest is a Zelda Wii U and Smash Bros Wii U. Yummy.

    Now the Wii U box and the 3DS boxes utilize the color schemes that they’ve been pushing for each console on their videos. Would it be weird if they suddenly changed the 3DS boxes/title bar to red?

    Hate that yellow band so much…. If I get a Wii U, I’m going to either print out custom artwork for all my games, or I’m going to find a way to cover it up while keeping the art nice looking.
