Wii U Pro Controller Black White

Nintendo has confirmed that the Wii U Pro Controller will cost $49.99 when it launches with the Wii U on the 18th of November in North America. It’ll be a worthwhile purchase if you want a traditional control method.

Come December 1st im gonna be broke XD

  • Corey

Yes I already preorder my wii u the delux package and I’m deff getting the pro controller on release date

  • Guy

    Not bad.

  • Marty

Well at least kept the basic designee of the classic controller pro.

  • Hybrilynx

what the foo? im not going to pay more then $20 for one. i bought years ago a classic controller with black skin bundled, and was only $20. screw this.

    • Co-Wink-Key dink inc

This has true wireless and rumble and analog shoulder buttons, it has every reason to be $50

    • Ichigo Kurosaki

You damn right. Lol. Plus Hardcore COD fans and others will buy this controller just cuz. So they’ll make a nice profit off of it.

    • Mechadestroyah

of the hands on experiences i have seen people say there is no rumble

    • Co-Wink-Key dink inc

The Wii U game Pad had Rumble, the Wii remote has, why not the Pro Controller?

    • kev

Its the same price you would pay for a 360 or PS3 controller new. Plus, this controller is on a whooooole different scale of bad-assery when compared with the classic controller on wii.

    • Hybrilynx

yeah but thats why everybody hates microsoft and sony. also, i think it pretty much has the same amount of buttons on it as the classic controller. its really nothing different.

    • AxGamer

Actually its cheaper than a wireless PS3/360 controller.

    • AxGamer

But the 360/ps3 controllers cost more!

I’ll definitely be picking up one these not too long after I get my Wii U. :D

  • Pyroblock

i think this can wait for me, i have no plans on getting games that would feel better playing this (onyl talking about cod really) soon i should add, im sure something will come up

Decent price. It’s a standard control design, so it would be ridiculous to overcharge for it.

    • http://twitter.com/EvanVonErich Evan

It’s not “standard”. It lacks analog shoulder button controls. Therefore it’s inferior to “standard” controllers.

    • http://twitter.com/paulct91 Paul Taylor

What do you mean by “analog shoulder buttons, I think I see those in the picture?

    • Relytgninroht

I think he means clickable analog sticks- but I haven’t heard anywhere that this controller doesn’t have those.

    • Castamere

The trigger-like buttons in the rear of both the Pro controller and the GamePad are digital, not analog. This is not an issue at all. The analog sticks on both controllers are indeed clickable.

    • Sonic20012

I don’t know if the Pro controller has clickable analog sticks, but the gamepad analog sticks are clickable, so I’m guessing that the pro controllers sticks are clickable as well.

    • Nintendo Knight

but the sticks are click-able don’t you think it’d be counter productive to make the pro counterpart to the game pad not be clickable

    • Redlixer

How do you know that the pro controllers don’t have pressure sensitive shoulder buttons? HMMMM????

  • Game Master

I knew this woud be the price

  • http://www.facebook.com/henrik.puetz Henrik Puetz

    another 200€ to go^^

  • Relytgninroht

So I’m assuming that the Wii U supports up to four of these? Great. In order to have a complete set of controllers for every possible game- you’re going to have to have two GamePads, four Wii Remote Plus with Nunchuks, and four Pro Controllers. I guess you’ll be fine if you mostly play online multiplayer and singleplayer.

    • Ice Climbers

It only supports up to four Wii Remotes and Wii U Pro Controllers. Meaning that if you have 4 Wii Remotes synced to the system, you can’t use a Pro Controller, and vice-versa. 2 Wii Remotes with Motion Plus and 2 Wii U Pro Controllers is what you should really have.

    • redkixer

Actually, you should have 4 of each because of different play styles between the two. It’ll support 2 Wii U game pads AND 4 Wii Remote/Wii U Pro Controllers. So that’s up to 6 controllers at a time. But if you just want 4 player action, then 4 remotes, 2 Game pads, and 2 Pro controllers will be all that’s necessary. But 4 of all would be the best (and 2 game pads)!!!

    • Redlixer

But something tells me you already knew that…

    • mkdhdh

gamepad counts as1 to didnt it?

  • Beat

Would buy this just for smash bros. Since you can’t use the Gamecube controller anymore.

    • Jairo

Oh my gawll that’s right… then again we’ll still have the Wiimote-Nunchuck, which I use when playing with my brothers (they use our Gamecube controllers). So, spend 50 bucks for a better experience, or use something I’m use to…. ehhhhh….

    • Tails the Foxhound

I’m a ‘chuk user, so I’ll already be situated when Smash4U hits.

  • Babymario26

ill get these once i see Mario kart WiiU announced .

    • Nintyfan10

      More like Smash Bros. 4

  • Guy

I want these for Smash Bros. I don’t understand why some people are saying these were meant to replace the GamePad. Only one or two GamePads can be connected, so if you want to play multiplayer you’re going to need more controllers. Wiimote+nunchuk is okay for some games, but for a lot of games a standard controller works better.

  • Alex_Atkin_UK

The question is, do Wii games function with these controllers? Do they have motion control?

I can think of a couple of games that use the Wiimote sideways that would be somewhat nicer with this controller, IF it works. I suspect the answer is no though.

  • AxGamer

    Better than a $60 Xbox 360 controller

  • Josh

I don’t want this, mainly cause of the weird button layout. The buttons are WAY too far down, and it would be difficult to reach. I really question that design.

  • Jairo

$50? Welp, looks like there will be another accessory I wont be picking up…

  • Jorge

I hope it’s analog and it rumbles. *crosses fingers*

  • Tails the Foxhound

So they didn’t overcharge for these controllers like MS and Sony? What a shock!
