We’re near-positive that Epic Mickey 2 will be announced next week, and we’re thinking it will be announced for the Wii U, and a new interview with Warren Spector is only making it seem all-the-more guaranteed. He has said that, “hypothetically” if there is a sequel to Epic Mickey, “the time would be right to get the game on other platforms”. He believes it should be on more than the Wii and specifically mentions the 360 and the PS3. And, if it was on those platforms (which is a rumour we’ve heard), it’d be easy enough to bring it to the Wii U.

Spector also says he would probably add a co-op feature in the game, and address the major concerns from the first game such as the camera system. The lack of voice-work in the first game “was a mistake”, and full voice support would be added in the sequel.

Hypothetically.

…so…this is cool…did anybody else go to screenburn arcade this year? I picked up a lot of streetpass tags there.

Big N has not announced anything yet. But yes, its very likely.

Nintendo Power also hinted at Epic Mickey 2 in their last issue on the last page. They said that they had something “epic” in store for the next issue as well as an image of two black things coming from the bottom of the page that looked curiously like Oswald’s ears. (Reitterating this from my last post.)

It’s practically confirmed that Epic Mickey 2 is revealed. These guys stink at keeping stuff secret.

having a game that sold well on wii might kill the sequel, remember de blob? it sold pretty good on wii, so they decided to make it multiplatform, the game sold like crap and the team ended up going under.

You’d think they’d focus on putting the game exclusively on Wii U.

The game would work flawlessly with having players use the touchscreen and stylus on the Wii U controller to paint with Mickey’s brush, and I don’t see it being as interesting with using the more traditional controller. And not only that, but it’s not particularly the kind of game that’ll draw much from most PS3 and Xbox 360 owners, and even though the Wii U is very well targeting the core gamer crowd, it still stands to please more family-oriented audience as well and even core gamers like myself who can enjoy a game like this still tend to be Nintendo fans.

They should just focus on making it a flawless and fun Wii U game, and if they want, they can port it to Kinect (I guess.) Just saying.
