We’re closing in on the September 13th media briefing from Nintendo, where all the details about the Wii U will be revealed, and I’ve put together the above video with a smattering of predictions. Feel free to share yours in the comments section for the chance to win bragging rights.

  • John

Last Sunday in November or December (21st-ish) release.

    $299.99 – White Console

    $349.99 – Elite Black Console w Mario Brothers U

Nintendo Land bundled with all WiiU’s everywhere. (or free to download
from Nintendo network; too crappy to not be free either way)

    $119.99 Game pad

    $49.99 Pro controller

    $29.99 Zapper

    1.25x as powerful as PS3

    • Ice Climbers

I don’t think the GamePad will be that expensive. It’s old tech being used in new ways. Also, Nintendo never releases an “elite” console as a different color. They allow you to choose between colors, so there would have to be a regular Black console and an elite White console. As for the Pro Controller, pretty spot on. I’m wondering if the Wii Remote Plus will change in price or not, and if one is included with the system.

    • iLiamlolama

I want nintendo to surprise us with a new game that has not been seen yet so there will be something new and fresh, them to mention SSB4 (just mention it) and more about the interface and miiverse and also nintendo network with an achievement based system (rumored as being accomplishments).
      I want…..not what I think

    • John

Any company that charged $50 + Shipping for a Grey Nintendo 64 controller 5 years after the system stopped being made could easily charge $119.99 for an extra wii pad.

    • AxGamer

Nintendo learns from their mistakes so think please.

    • Ice Climbers

Nintendo would have to be insane to charge $120 for a GamePad. They know quite well that people would not be happy with that. Especially after the 3DS launch.

    • http://twitter.com/Revolution5268 Revolution

why does people think that wii u pad cost $100, is it because they think wii u pad=/= ipad?

    • AxGamer

You are incorrect about the power John. Some specs where just realeased saying it would be 3 or 4 times as powerful. Remember the tech demo at E3 2011 with the Bird flying over the pond?

    • lonewolf88

nintendo land is more likely to be a a game bundle since its more “mini games”

    • http://twitter.com/Revolution5268 Revolution

yeah about this “mini games”, you do realize that you also need wiimotes to play some of the Nintendo land games, unless it come bundle with a wiimote, i don’t think its a good idea to do this.

  • Sonic20012

I live in NA, and I think the Nov. 18 release date is spot on. So I guess that 3 different bundles thing wasn’t true, and you’ll get everything for $250? That’s awesome, except we don’t know if Nintendo Land is gonna be a pack-in or a stand-alone title. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow! OFTO

  • AxGamer

    The $250 bundle will be..
    -1 Gamepad ($80)
    -1 power adapter
    -1 A/V adapter (standard definition)
    -1 Wii U system ($180)
On the other hand the most expensive bundle ($350) will be…
    -1 controller
    -1 power adapter
    -1 Wii U pro controller ($50)
    -1 A/V (HDMI SPLITTER)
    -1 System
-Free game (probably a copy of Nintendo Land)

    • Ice Climbers

I’m pretty sure both would come with HDMI cables. There wouldn’t be a bundle that only comes with standard definition cables.

  • Brandon

you are right on all accounts David! ….i hope lol

  • Balthazzar

    More love for NSAF!!!!

  • SuperLuigi1026

I’ve said for a while it’ll launch on Nov. 18, and it looks like I’ll be right. Also, it’ll cost $250-300 and Nintendo Land will be bundled with the console at launch day. Bblack and white consoles will both be released on Nov. 18

  • SuperLuigi1026

    For North America:
I’ve said for a while the Wii U will launch of Nov. 18, and I think I’ll be right on that one. Also, it’ll cost $250-300 for the console, GamePad and Nintendo Land (bundled game).

  • Hellztourguide

Ill make a prediction…$249 for the console with no games with it. $299 for the console and it comes with Nintendo Land AND a Wii U Pro controller. Bam! 2 different options from day 1. Also the black and white will both be available from day one. Boom!

    • helztourguide

p.s. I like the way you say “third-eenth” lol. Im just another easily amused retarded american…

    • lonewolf88

nice thinking i would love having the pro controller at launch it would be smexy :S

  • Nintendo Knight

multiplayer metriod prime is my bid

  • nintendyrules

I think that nintendo will surprise us with an october 6th release date… reason being is that on the ubisoft website for just dance 4′s wii u page it says that october 6, 2012 will be the release date

    • Ice Climbers

NO! October 6th is too soon. My wallet’s body isn’t ready yet, and I’m going to buy Pokemon Black 2 on the 7th. I still need at least another $150. Stupid tax is getting in the way, as I want to buy a game for the Wii U too.

  • Jairo

Why is everyone talking about “different bundles” for the console? I know Nintendo has done it before, but if I remember correctly it doesn’t make it cost any more than it already did, if not even DROP the price (due to price drop though, not bundle…) and a, I guess you can say “new” bundle, usually comes out within a year or two.

  • http://www.facebook.com/AJ.Fowl Andrew Chambers

    Gamepad: $80
    Pro controller: $40
    Launch games: between $40-60
Far cry 3 announced for Wii u
and valve will announce something, just not sure what…
oh, hopefully they’ll announce that it has USB 3.0

    • http://twitter.com/Revolution5268 Revolution

whoa Nintendo got to be pretty money whores to do that.

  • Tylos

I predict that the NONSPECIFIC ACTION FIGURE will make an appearance and obtain his own video game franchise… Other that the other obvious stuff like price and release date… They’ll probably have one of those game montages they usually do about game releases, with a few games we never heard about, franchises we know but didn’t know we’re coming to wiiu so we’ll mega jizz our pants, third party titles, a new ip, the new game from you know who, and then they’ll show off some of the titles and tell the audience about how they can take part in playing some of the games, and then Reggie will apologize to us bums watching online and tell us that we can still enjoy it through the Nintendo all access thing and checking their YouTube, facebook, twitter, etc pages THE END

I think that the Wii U will have either a Nintendo DS/3DS slot or be able to play DS/3DS games. It’s got all the right buttons, a top screen and a touch screen, a camera. What else do you need?
(I guess, if you were playing a DS game it wouldn’t look so good on such a big screen…)

  • http://twitter.com/Revolution5268 Revolution

anyone is going to pre order wii u after the press?

    • Trulaw

      That depends on how
      they do I suppose.

  • http://www.facebook.com/lilrizky Joshua Rizk

Well the the most obvious is the price/release dates and launch titles of the games already revealed. Other things will include miiverse in detail, NFC, virtual console, eshop.

Other than that there’s still third party publishers that have yet to announce anything. Activision will be sure to reveal black ops 2 and skylanders, capcom will reveal something maybe a monster hunter, 2k should announce NBA 2k officially, hopefully there’ll be something by square and there’ll also be the rumored retro game hopefully.

there’s also the issue of the 3 bundles too I think it’ll be wii u on its own with game pad, the next package will include a couple wii remote maybe since a lot of games still use them and the last package will be Nintendo land most likely as its nintendos main launch titles, it uses the gamepad and wii remotes in unique ways and will be a great way to promote multiplayer, asymmetrical gameplay and miiverse

  • Trulaw

    I predict a
    Mario FPS game, lol.

    • Ice Climbers

      Next: A Pokemon FPS.

  • http://twitter.com/ZpeedTube ZpeedTube

My prediction for Europe since I live there. Release date: 10 December 2012. Price> Standard: ~260€ Premium: ~300€. Wii Game Pad: ~160€. (This is based a little on the Japan stream and earlyer Nintendo releases.)
