Trine 2: Director’s Cut to receive voice chat feature with update in December

The developers of Trine 2: Director’s Cut for the Wii U (available now) have confirmed that an update will add voice chat functionality to the game in December. As with all games though, you can’t use the GamePad’s microphone for voice chat. You will need a separate headset.

Actually, it seems that with some games you can, like Black Ops 2.

It really sucks that Nintendo have half-assed the voice chat support.

Its bad enough they didn’t bother to include mandatory cross-game chat, but to leave it entirely up to the developers HOW it will be supported is just plain confusing.

Some games work with the game pad, some need USB headsets, this is just confusing.

Surely the Wii U is perfectly capable of supporting Bluetooth headsets? So why all this half-assed support?
