Hiroyuki Kobayashi of Capcom has said that:

Unfortunately, RE6 will not be available at this time on the Wii U. Right now we’re concentrating on the PlayStation 3 version, 360 version and the PC version of the game.

The three words that everyone is focusing on though is “at this time”. It makes it sound like the game may come to the platform later on, perhaps. When developers remain vague like that though, I tend to think it’s more out of habit rather than careful word choice. It’s rare they want to say anything that’s too concrete, as they can never be sure of how quickly things may change.

Or maybe I’m wrong and it’s just a matter of time. Hopefully that’s the case.

    Well… this sucks.

  • nooooo

ahh man I thought it would be at launch but still hope it will come out the wii u

  • Beat

First Epic Mickey 2 and now this? D:

    • Alex

I understand bro.But dont worry.Capcom will regret not cashing in on the Wii U

  • Rhino Pubes

    Doubt its coming

  • SEGAGIGA

Calm down. CAPCOM has very good relations with Nintendo. This is just an embargo and they’re only waiting for E3 or a go signal from Nintendo.

    • Naner

      That’s pretty darn likely.

Still, I don’t think this game’s going to be good enough to be worth the bother.

  • Grapefruit Assassin

Damn, must be too late to start right now. That’s okay the definitive version will come out later.

  • Trulaw

Considering how bad RE5 was and Capcom’s behaviour of late, this is probably for the best.

    • SparktehFox

Uhm… RE: Revelations/Mercs, Monster Hunter 3G/4, Project X Zone, Prof Layton X Phoenix Wright say, “Hi.”

    • Big E

And RE 5 wasn’t bad. It was pretty good.

    • SparktehFox

The reason people hate RE5 so much is because they have a hard time understanding the story, and because the game abandons the survival horror genre. If people paid more attention and viewed the game as a Survival Action instead, they would respect it more.

    • Big E

The story is so easy to understand. Hell, there were snippets of major plot points on the loading screens…But I guess that’s just me, considering I almost completely have a grasp on the Kingdom Hearts’ story.

i dont really care about resident evil i mean i pkayed umberella chronicles at a friends and i couldnt sleep for 3 weeks! ok i’m a pussy but still ;) but it sucks for fans of the franchise. because i would know how i feel if they would cancel lego city stories of ghost recon online or AC 3 because i’m fan of those franchises and well it would suck:)

    • Trulaw

@kamkid *cough* Rumour posted by some random individual on a forum *cough* :P

    • mkdhdh

      lol, i’m not random :p

    • Trulaw

@mkdhdh Lol, I was talking about the guy that said that the NDA would be expiring on March 26 and I replied to the wrong comment.

    • mkdhdh

      @trulaw lol kk :p

    • Meelow

That was a rumor, not fact.

    • Naner

Well, the agreement, if there ever was one (there probably is), obviously wasn’t lifted on March 26th. There really is no solution to things other than waiting ’till E3. So wait ’till E3.

    • J. Severe

That’s a nasty cough, kamkid, you want some water?

  • D2K

There will be Capcom games available for launch on the Wii U, just not this one. The general consensus is that most developers would rather build a game from the ground up on Wii U hardware and make full use of the controller rather than a shovelware game with tacked-on controls.

People whined and complained to no end about such games on the Wii so the fact the developers are choosing to hold back in order to give us a quality product should excite people. As the statement said “at this time” means that they aren’t making it right now.

It’s possible that companies were too far into development when Wii U dev kits started going out. Personally, I have enough 3rd person shooters. I don’t need another one and that basically is what Resident Evil has become. It used to be a survival/horror game where it was a struggle to survive. Now it is an action-adventure shooter and really doesn’t have any of the charm that brought the series so much acclaim in the 90′s and early 2000′s.

Not that games like Resident Evil 4,5, and 6 weren’t good games because the were. To me, Resident Evil Zero was the last Resident Evil game that truly felt like Resident Evil game. There is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much that can be done with the Wii U controller in terms of a survival/horror type game and I personally would rather Capcom make something special for the Wii U along those lines.

    • Big E

The first sentence in your last paragraph makes it sound like you’ve played and beaten an unreleased game.

    • D2K

      Typo

    • XZAceNintendo

      Revelations much? -_-

  • Big E

I highly doubt it won’t never not come.

  • Big E

And speak of the devil, there’s an ad for the game right next to the f****** World of Warcraft ad.

  • Alex

Capcom is so retarded! The wii U is the next vbig thing and the would rather mess around with last generation consoles.I pity Capcom!

    • Big E

      I pity you.

    • hrt12

He’s right noob, save the pity for yourself, you’re going to need it.

  • Cooky

Well, this is the same company that said “No Monster Hunter for 3DS” around Captivate 2011, IIRC. So, massive grain of salt.

  • AquaFire

    ”at this time”
I hope that means the GOTY version will be on it i really wanted to play it on my wiiU.Guess i’l get the pc version then.
