The release date, price, and other information about the Wii U to be unveiled in fall

Satoru Iwata has said in regards to the Wii U:

It is our intention to convey a strong message this fall with the information about the price and the launch date and then to create momentum good enough to convince our consumers to buy…

This was, of course, expected, but it’s nice to have the confirmation.

    Analog Triggers Nintendo?

      Is it really THAT big of a deal what kind of triggers it has? We’re going to buy it whether it does or doesn’t. :)

      I really don’t give a damn whether it has analogue triggers or not. It has no need for them. An example is using the sensors of the controller in order to control the speed of the car. Tilt forward or back to accelerate/brake.

      So many ways to do things that eliminate the use of those triggers. Just forget about them.

      Yes, it does matter because a ton of GameCube Virtual Console games wouldn’t work correctly without them.

    I have an idea for the Wii U. My idea is that since most Wii U games require both the tv and the game pad, you won’t be able to play it at any moment. If your mom or dad are using the tv and you need both screens, you can use the 3DS as the game pad and the Wii U controller as the tv. I hope they do that in the future.

      standard wlan connection = bad for latencies
      the vita and psp are proof enough

      the ds3 cannot emulate the features nearly as well as the wii u controller and it wouldn’t be any fun trust me

      cool idea … but that cant happen .. the wii u game pad dosnt have its own processor .. it recieves everything from the console .. so it cant send any data to the 3ds .. but it would be cool if u can connect ur 3ds to the wii U and use it in some way …

      wrong little buddy, nintendo have said that if your on mario wii u in the lounge /living room and your family want to watch tv then you can switch it to the tablet instead

      Or you can just use the 3DS’s dual screen feature and connected it to the Wii U.

      Problem is the 3DS lacks the electronic compass.

    quick question guys?

    1. is the wiiU pro just an add on like the classic pro with the wii remote?

    2. and even if it is its own remote, then why does it have only up to 4 players. Theres only 4 players, some games are up to 5 players like rayman legends. So they dont include the wiiU gamepad?

      You can theoretically have up to 6 players, two gamepads and a combination of Four Wiimotes and Wii U Controller Pro.

      And the Wii U Controller Pro is entirely wireless.

    whhhhhhhhhhhhhy do they have to make us wait THAT long! i thought that they would announce everything at e3, e3 was kinda good in some ways. (reggie’s body was ready, pikman, etc.) but CMON! i want this gamesystem, im saving up already! i got 180$ saved and about 400$ by december. I just wanna know how much it will be, so i dont save TOO much.

    We knew this already, you fucking cunt David. And don’t expect anything out of whatever shitty conference the price and release date will be revealed at. They’ll probably say it costs 599 US dollars bundled with New Super Mario Bros. U, which everyone will say is a perfect price and everyone will eat it up because it has shitty Mario. They won’t even give the direct release date – just say it’s coming out “this holiday season” again.

    Don’t expect anything good out of them again. ESPECIALLY after their disgusting E3. smh. How can they even live with themselves?

      Err.. no, Nintendo is awesome, but Microsoft and Sony have too much momentum to be stopped immediately. I imagine Sony to dissolve in time if they make the next console another “vita”: Overpriced, Overpowered, Crappy Games.

    You just log in with your Nintendo Acount in the Nintendo E-shop and you redownload the game.

    playing it on the wii-u instead of the wii probably won’t add any new functionality tho
    other than being able to play on the pad when the TV is off that is

    Go to the Wii’s settings in the bottom left, then go to the memory settings and just transfer the data
