Rayman Legends 3

As a lot of you might know at this point, the demo for Rayman Legends is now available on the eShop. You can check out some footage from it after the break.

  • Marty

…good thing I have tacos in the oven.

    • Mitt Romney

Hot dogs and meat loaf is better, I mean come on!

    • Marty

      eehhhhhhhhhhwww, meatloaf 3:{

  • CHECKit095

You can play this demo 30 times. The Music level is super awesome!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/JonathanRider Johnny Rider

I’m going to be buying the game just for that.

    • Gorgonite98

30 times? WTH? Why is Nintendo being so tight? Who puts a limit on a downloaded demo? Nintendo…of course.

    • jay rydah

Nintendo released a statement saying that its the developers of da game that set dat limit. So dont bash nintendo for dat. Plus do u really play a demo more then 30times before you make up your mind to buy da game

    • Gorgonite98

I don’t think about how many times I play a demo and neither should anyone else. You and the other sheep are the reason things like this are going on. Nintendo forces the limitation and its up to the company who chooses (and pays) to put a demo on the e shop to set a limit. Why make excuses for them? Maybe if more of us spoke up, crap like this wouldn’t happen. Are you fine with the battery life on the pad, too? What about the download/install time? Maybe you don’t care about analog buttons, but like SteveD I do. Don’t be content with following the herd, it’s ok to speak up. Don’t be afraid, Nintendo owes us.

    • Ice Climbers

At this point you sound more like an immature child. Quit complaining, and be grateful for what the system does have. Stop being greedy.

    • Gorgonite98

At least I’m honest. I can tell you that I DON’T respect your opinion, but it doesn’t mean you should quit having one. It’s apparent to anyone that you are a fanboy. So with that being said, just remember if and when one or all these issues are fixed, it was because people like me spoke up while sheep like you did nothing. Oh, and you’re welcome for HD resolution and an attempt at better online connectivity. I’m pretty sure you would be content with 480p and friend codes, right?

    • Ice Climbers

Then why is that whenever there are little things wrong with a Nintendo system, everybody makes a huge deal about it and bashes Nintendo, but when its Microsoft or Sony, nobody complains (other than fanboys of other companies)? I could very easily go off on several things on both Microsoft and Sony if I wanted to. For example, the battery pack on the 360 controller. Who puts a battery pack on a controller that sticks out, making the controller uncomfortable on the fingers? Microsoft should have made it like the PS3 and Wii U Pro controllers from the start.

Oh, and I’m no fanboy. I play my PS3 just as much as my Wii U, and I have a 360 and an original Xbox. I just feel that Nintendo is bashed unreasonably while Microsoft and Sony don’t get the same treatment.

    • Gorgonite98

      Quote:

You just answered your own question. The problem is fanboys. You’re a fanboy and this is why you take offense when someone brings up flaws in a Nintendo product. It’s ok though, I accept you for what you are.

I myself have owned every major (and some not so major) game console released in the US since 1980. And I mean EVERY. I could give you a laundry list of things that were wrong with each of them if it makes you feel better. All I’m talking about is now and what I expect from Nintendo as a gamer in 2012. I think some things can be fixed, but sooner is always better than later.

    • JasonRelaxation

      “Oh, and I’m no fanboy”

Dude, anyone that clicks on your disqus activity can plainly see you are the epitome of a Nintendo fanboy. You’re not fooling anyone.

    • Ice Climbers

Well, my disqus activity makes it seem that way, that’s for sure. However, its merely coincidence. I love my Playstation. I’d get a Vita if it was cheaper. I just don’t happen to comment on any Playstation blogs that use disqus. I love Sony and Nintendo, its just that the Wii U and 3DS are what I comment on. I’m more of a Nintendo fan than a fanboy. If I was a fanboy, I wouldn’t play on the Playstation.

    • JasonRelaxation

      Step one: Denial

    • Ice Climbers

Apparently I’m a Nintendo fanboy that plays Playstation. Right. That makes perfect sense. Also, calling someone a Nintendo fanboy on a Nintendo blog makes you look like a troll you know, and possibly a Sony/Microsoft fanboy. Not that you are one of course. Anyway, I’m done arguing as it seems I’m not getting anywhere. There’s definitely things with the Wii U that can be fixed, and I hope they do get fixed.

    • Gorgonite98

You are the only one who brought up specific systems, am I right? You are starting to really look like what you are denying. Take a breath, and realize that wether these gripes bother you or not, they exist. Making excuses and comparisons on a pro wii u website makes you look like what? Relax, sounds like everyone here wants the U to be the best it can be.

    • JasonRelaxation

“Anyway, I’m done arguing as it seems I’m not getting anywhere”

First thing you’ve written I can agree with.

    • jayrydah

Haha man u have no idea but I am not a Nintendo fan boy at all u lame fu☆☆.I simply replied back to your comment on Nintendo being the 1s that put a limit when its the freaking developers who set the limit NOT nintendo.!! Look it up. So I was stating facts. I own a wii u but the last Nintendo system I owened was the N64.n have ben on playstation ever since..so NO I aint a Nintendo fan boy or any fan boy for that matter. If a gaming system gets my attention then I get it.i dont brand my self by calling my self a fan boy of anything

    • JasonRelaxation

No one called you a fanboy. I believe he called you a sheep. Not sure why you are so angry, but I’m going to assume you’re just ignorant.

For your information, Nintendo started enforcing a limit on demos since the e shop came to be on the 3ds. It’s up to the developer to choose the number of times. So when Nintendo says they don’t set the “number” of limits, it’s technically true. If you knew what you were talking about, you would know that Nintendo’s own game demos also have a limit on them.

What do you have to say now, genius? And please, if you have to respond can you do so without using profanity?

    • jayrydah

I would assume that it would be common sense to anyone that Nintendos own games would have a limit set by them as they are the makers of there own games just as I stated that the devs that make there own games set there own limits too so whats your point? And excuse me if my profanity offended you in any way and was to much for your innocent mind to digest.

    • Gorgonite98

Of course your thought process is based on assumption, but you are still incorrect on all counts.

I never called you a fanboy, but I guess you assumed that, too. How can you expect anyone to take you seriously? Just quit while you’re ahead.

  • http://www.facebook.com/partylobster Damian Keffer

I loved demoing the music level in stores… now I can do it forever (up to thirty times)!

  • Ice Climbers

There’s also a demo for Sonic & Allstars Racing Transformed on the US eShop.

  • http://www.facebook.com/JonathanRider Johnny Rider

    Is this for all regions?

    • http://www.facebook.com/JonathanRider Johnny Rider

Never mind, I’ve just downloaded it. Awesome game!

  • Milky

I heard this was one of the first games completed and set for launch day for the wii u. I played it at E3 and was the main game for the system I was looking forward to. Apparently, Nintendo wanted to delay the game due to the U’s pricing (at a loss) and make up for it with 1st party software sales. Since Rayman was a direct competitor to their Mario game, ubi soft was “persuaded” to delay release in order to recoup profits since their Mario title was seen as the title most likely to sell in conjunction with the system.

    • Ichigo Kurosaki

While that MAY be true, when I went to Gamestop to play this demo b4 the U dropped it was kinda buggy. So maybe they delayed it for those two reasons. To keep from competing with Mario AND to sort out all the bugs it had. Idk….

    • Gen76

The demo you are talking about is based on the E3 one developed 6 months ago. The game levels in that demo are different in the final game. Even the e shop demo is different. The game was delayed on purpose.

    • Ichigo Kurosaki

Oh ok. I had no idea.

  • RHCG

Downloading and installing on the U is excruciating. If a demo takes this long, I will never buy a full game on the e shop. God forbid there’s another system update anytime soon.

And whats with the limited number of uses for a demo? After all the time it takes to set up, they’re gonna put a cap on how many times I can play the demo? Nintendo needs to get their s together.

    • SteveD

Don’t even get me started on the control pad. It’s bad enough that the download and install process takes so long, but the gdamn battery is have gone by the time it’s finished installing and that’s if you ave a full charge to begin with. And where are the analog buttons?

    • Ice Climbers

It’s like that on the PS3 too. I don’t know about the 360 though. Downloading a map pack for Black Ops on the PS3 took well over 3 hours, and I have a pretty fast internet connection. Also, its up to the developers to choose how many times a demo can be played, not Nintendo (unless its a demo for a Nintendo-developed game of course). So don’t blame Nintendo for that. Plus, who plays a demo 15-30 times before they make up their mind on whether they are gonna buy the game or not? As for the GamePad’s battery, put it on the charger while you are waiting.

    • SteveD

Why bother having a wireless controller then? If I wanted a cable attached to my controller, I would have preferred it be connected to the console itself. At least this way the cost of the controller would have been less. The thing is, wireless is the way to go and Nintendo should have gone with a better battery.

BTW, Nintendo may not set an exact limit, but they enforce one. At least that’s what developers are saying.

    • BlackAssassin

Anti-nintendo pr!ck, STFU about it and get a life while you’re at it too, lol.

    • Jason G

He bought a U. How is that anti Nintendo? If you have nothing constructive to add to the conversation, just stay in your bubble and take your own advice, son.

To ice climber, why should he have to buy another controller to make up for the battery life of the one the system came with. I’m only getting around 3 hrs of juice on a 2.5 hour charge myself. With a 500 charge cycle, I don’t see the battery lasting past another year and a half. I don’t have to bring up competing consoles because this is poor performance for any device.

I’ve opened up the battery compartment and was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. It looks like theres room for a bigger battery and that gives me hope. Weather Nintendo or a third party comes out with an extended life battery, it needs to be done.

    • Ice Climbers

Well at least the battery is replaceable.

    • ABProductions

Have y’all tried turning the brightness down? I don’t mind the battery life, and I just have my charger right by my couch if I need to charge while playing.

    • Matt Solatti

I like how you say the battery is fine, but admit to having to keep the charger handy in order to plug it in while playing. I just checked and Jason’s right. After 500 plug ins, your battery is dead. Thats just unacceptable.

Btw, turning down the brightness from the default is negligible.

    • SteveD

Every single download and install takes a long time on U regardless of the size of a file.

    • Ice Climbers

You missed my point. Its the same way on the PS3. Also, where did you hear that developers are being enforced to set a limit on demos? Could you provide a source please? From what I’ve heard, Nintendo has given free reign to developers on eShop releases, other than games having to be approved first by Nintendo (though that process is really simple and faster than either Xbox Live or PSN). The battery life on the GamePad is fine. If it bothers you, buy a Pro Controller and play games that are compatible with that controller while waiting for your download to finish.

    • DAMAGE CONTROL

For the demo limit… So another company doing it justifies Nintendo doing it? If Nintendo Network gets hacked, will you try to justify it by saying PSN got hacked as well?

    • Ice Climbers

No, of course not. I was talking about the download/install time when I said that its the same way on PS3 by the way.

    • GorgeousGeorge

Not true. Some download/install times are long on other systems, of course, but ALL downloads/installs on the U are long. (even the small files)

What I’m worried about is the reason. From what some are reporting, it’s do to the dumbed down CPU. I hope they’re FOS, but I gotta be honest, the speed of the OS is suspect.

I saw a video of some ugly Japanese chick blogger talking about what I assume was the slowness of the system. I never thought about it until I clicked on the setting menu and immediately clicked out. It took close to a minute from the main screen and back. I’m not looking forward to any more updates, but if it means fixing this issue I don’t care if it takes a day to install.

    • Ice Climbers

Well hopefully Nintendo fixes this soon. Off topic, but does anyone know when TVii will become available?

    • GorgeosGeorge

Already available since the 8th…in Japan. Too many providers in NA and EU to get this going quickly. I don’t feel confident they will release it this month.

    • Ice Climbers

      Well that’s unfortunate.

    • GorgeousGeorge

Looks like it may be released tomorrow. Keep an eye out.

    • Ice Climbers

Yeah saw it on Nintendo’s Facebook page. There’s also going to be a “Reggie Asks” interview with the devs of TVii apparently.

    • GorgeousGeorge

So, what are your thoughts on the glorified channel guide? Pretty underwhelming, right?

    • Ice Climbers

Yeah, I set it up and then started playing NSMBU immediately after. Not really all that exciting. Might be nice to check sports stats during a game, but that’s about it really.

    • GorgeousGeorge

At this point the only thing I’m really excited about is what this acquaintance of mine told me to 2 weeks ago that he heard about. Apparently, this friend of ours who knows someone in the industry said there was talk about a dsi/3ds adapter for the U much like the super GameBoy and GameBoy Player. He also talked about how a 3d tv would be capable of displaying 3ds games with full effect.(with glasses of course) When I questioned him more about it, he got into how our friend explained that every other Nintendo console released had an adapter to play the current portable carts and how the U was next. I myself figured it was coincidence, but found it interesting non the less. I immediately went online and searched for any information on this, but just like I figured there was no mention of it.

Anyway, if there is any truth to this, I would definitely be very interested in it. Until then, I’ll be waiting for the next big game.

    • Ice Climbers

That’s interesting. I’d love an adapter to play DS/3DS games. It would be good timing on their part since 3D TVs aren’t as expensive as they were when the 3DS came out. For next big games, I’m waiting for Pikmin 3, but I will probably get NG3: Razor’s Edge or AC3 for xmas. Might buy Sonic & Allstars Racing Transformed since its only $40.

  • Rummy Moyow

Yay! Going to download that later…

  • GamerBlue53

    1. You can do anything on your Wii U while it’s downloading, and it still runs smoothly.
    2. Who plays a demo more than 30 times anyways?

    • Vampiric

      1. You can do anything you want, but it’s not gonna speed up the process. It’s slow, that’s the point. Then you still have to install.

      2. Anyone who feels like it, at least that’s how it should be

    • Micahel

It’s not your right to play game demos, it’s a privilege. It’s the devs choice to provide FREE demos for consumers to enjoy and convince them to purchase. It’s perfectly reasonable for the devs to set a limit, they need to make a living too.

  • Micahel

Am I the only one who DOESN’T care about the demo play limits and actually thinks they’re perfectly fair?

  • lars

Love the Game cant wait for the full version.
