Above you can watch the annoucnement trailer for Smurfs 2, the game based on the upcoming movie, The Smurfs 2. WayForward and Ubisoft are the developers for the game, which might be a good thing, because the games based on The Smurfs as well as the movie itself wasn’t exactly the most popular content of its time.
Ubisoft has been showing a lot of support for the Wii U lately, while WayForward worked with Capcom on the upcoming nostalgia remaster, DuckTales: Remastered. However, do you think they can make this game good? Just looking at the Likes/Dislikes ratio on the above trailer should tell you what other games think already.
The release date for the game is June 19th.

Ubisoft has seen a lot of heat from Nintendo fans this year, usually originating from the hoopla of Rayman Legends for the Wii U. However, after receiving a demo for Rayman Legends on the Wii U, as well as confirming Wii U exclusive content for the game, most of the anger has died down.
Even after the fiasco, however, Ubisoft has shown explosive support for the Wii U. Every other day, it seems the company is announcing another Wii U game or revealing a game being ported to the Wii U. Even Splinter Cell: Blacklist has been shown on Amazon France to be coming to the Wii U. Both Nintendo and the Wii U are receiving a lot of support from Ubisoft right now, and that is quite clear.
Do you support Ubisoft or do you feel they should do more for Nintendo and the Wii U?
Hanging on to the Wii U for dear life, eh Ubisoft?
Joystiq has reported that Amazon France now has a listing for Splinter Cell: Blacklist, a game being developed by Ubisoft, for the Wii U. After the fiasco with Rayman Legends being delayed, Ubisoft has shown a lot of support for the console, including the possibility to Splinter Cell: Blacklist to come to the Wii U. The game is currently scheduled for release on August 20th.

Gamasutra recently sat down with Ubisoft developer, Jade Raymond, who is known for her work with the Assassin’s Creed series, to ask her a few questions on what she thinks of the future of triple-A games. When asked “…what’s the future for triple-A? Is it all just about making games that are infinitely bigger and more expensive?”, she replied, saying:
No, no. It’s got to stop. To give you an overly-simplified answer, I do think games and franchises need to include more user content. And by user content, I don’t mean that all of a sudden, every game is going to have a level builder, because not everyone wants to sit down and build a level. That’s too complicated. But by user content, you can think of Dark Souls, and how your game is affected by other people who are playing. In what ways can the user impact the experience? I think that’s what’s going to drive hits, but also at the extreme end, it’s going to enable us to continue to create interesting content without always having such huge costs associated with it. To me, that’s the key. What I think people want is their own custom experience, in anything.
She also feels that the gamer being able to show their vision in-game is just as important as the developers vision being seen, saying:
It’s nice to hear a game developer’s idea of a grand vision, but I honestly don’t think it’s about our creative vision so much. It’s about the gamer’s vision. It has to be more about how I’m allowing this to become the player’s brand.
How much of a role do you feel the gamer’s vision of a game should play?

A few days ago Ubisoft announced their exclusive Wii U download for the Challenge Mode feature on Rayman Legends.
