Ubisoft announced that the downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed 3 would soon be arriving on the Wii U and they’ve managed to stick with that plan.

• “The Hidden Secrets” costs $4.99 and adds three new missions, which take about a total of an hour to complete, along with two new multiplayer characters and single-player costumes.
• “The Battle Hardened” costs $9.99 and adds three new multiplayer maps — Charlestown, Fort St-Mathieu and Saint Pierre — and three new multiplayer characters.

Both are available now on the eShop.

Ubisoft confirmed that the “Battle Hardened” downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed 3 is set for release on the Wii U, and while we don’t have a release date at the moment, there’s some screenshots after the break.

The DLC itself includes three new multiplayer maps and characters.

Gamers are able to download the “Battle Hardened” downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed 3 on other platforms. This is not yet possible on the Wii U though. Luckily, Ubisoft has confirmed that it’s coming at some point, and they will “have more information regarding a date once we get closer to the launch of the content.” The content itself includes three new multiplayer maps and characters.

Even though Assassin’s Creed 3 has not yet been released for the Wii U, it has become the biggest ever launch title from Ubisoft, selling twice the amount of Assassin’s Creed 2. Of course, I doubt the Wii U version will make the sales numbers skyrocket, but it should be interesting to see how this develops.

There’ll be a sizeable amount of downloadable content coming to Assassin’s Creed 3 — a new single-player campaign spread over three releases, along with new multiplayer maps and characters — and all of this content will find its way into the Wii U version of the game. There’s a “season pass” for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, which provides a 25% discount, so hopefully there’s a similar initiative for the Wii U. Either way though, we won’t be missing out on the full experience.
