SEGA has revealed Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed for the 3DS, and there’s hope that it may come to the Wii U. Joe Neate, a producer for Sumo Digital, who are the developers of the game has said that it would be “a great idea to get this onto a platform like the Wii U”. Separately, he also said:

I’m sure there are still discussions ongoing about that at the moment. I think the platforms announced today are the only confirmed ones, but yeah, keep your eyes peeled for potential other platforms I’d imagine.

It sounds to me like this is happening, but what do you think?

  • Classic Hyper Sonic The Hedgehog A.K.A Rc/AGES

Least its gona be on 3DS.
It would make since to put it on Wii U, (it should be close to launch day when this comes out) but heck, look at Generations. I think sega is taking a break from publishing Sonic on Home Nintendo Systems for a while.

Your Car can transform into a boat to cross water and a plane to fly?

Banjo, Kazooie and the Avatars were in the 360 version of the original so with this car/boat/plane dynamic I’m going to go out on a limb and guess Diddy Kong will be guest starring in the Wii U or 3DS version

  • Jono

I’ll be wanting a Racer when I get a Wii U, so… I’d buy it if it came to the system, even if I didn’t like the first one much.

Sonic’s faster on his feet =_=

    • thatguyoverthere

Seriously? People are stilll complaining about this? Think about it like this, “Why is Sonic driving a kart in a kart-racing game?”

    • http://gravatar.com/jacknzack27 JacknZack

because sega cant make a good sonic game anymore

    • thatguyoverthere

I was actually going for the “because It’s a kart-racing gane.” answer, but whatever. Besides, I’d choose this over MK7 anyday.

    • thatguyoverthere

      *game

  • RicardoSForever

Since they’re skipping the Wii for the 2nd game, it’s a very possible situation. But we’ll have to wait for E3 or later.

  • ): ecafllorT

So I can order burgers, coneys, and icey treats while I race? Cool! I’ll think I’ll get an Oreo Sonic Blast, those are the best! :D

Here is fanboyism as its finest. Especially in the comments section of the article.

It means that they won’t confirm the title for the Wii U platform because Sega is concerned the system is not going to sell well. Given the gimmicky nature and old technology of the device, and what analysts are seeing as an expensive machine to produce, my guess is that many publishers are growing weary of Nintendo’s new machine. It has garnered quite a negative response from analysts and I think that is going to affect which companies invest in Nintendo. They better have a launch lineup like no one has ever seen to merely stay alive.

    • Mariofreak63

Well, considering that almost nothing is known about the WiiU, analysts can’t make any assumptions regarding the system as of now. The negative response is caused by lack of information, which Nintendo is saving for E3. But, they are giving us tidbits to keep whetting our appetite.

    • Dita

Does anyone hope that there will be a new controller that they reveal at e3? Because it looks so clunky and awful. It really does look like just a gimmick. I’ve been a Nintendo fan my whole life and have bought every Nintendo product (except SNES when I foolishly bought a Genesis) but I’m really worried if they release this thing what that monstrosity of a controller.

    • JD2995

@Dita, What are you saying? the controller is awesome

    • uhga buga

it’s been said by every one who has actually held it that it’s nice to hold and not that clunky which i believe is true. It’s not like it looks like a brick cell phone…

and yea what mariofreak63 said analyst know about as much as we do cant really predict much with that

  • Dita

    oops someone should proofread…

  • Bluey

    Of course it’s happening.
The first tease we ever got about the game was the quote: “Now working on another title for Sega on 3DS, VITA and WiiU. [The] title we are working on is top secret but the last game we did for them was Sonic And Sega All-Star Racing, so the logical conclusion would be…”

    • Total911

That’s what I thought. I thought it was already confirmed a long time ago!
