Scribblenauts Unlimited 5

Scribblenauts Unlimited is already available for the Wii U in North America, but it’s not coming to Europe until 2013. Why? We have no idea. When questioned, Jeremiah Slaczka of 5th Cell said this:

It’s due to stuff I can’t talk about until 2013. Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts were released NA and EU the same day. Trust me. I want your money. It’s due to things outside of development.

Fingers crossed the problems are sorted out soon.

“Trust me. I want your money.”
    Blunt, albeit straightforward.

    • Hybrilynx

      plus its millions.

    • Seb

Seems odd for a dev to be saying that publicly.

    • EddKupo

I wonder if he was making a joke. Heehee?

eh, why not? It’s not like it’s a big secret that software is built for profit. But I still think I want his money more that he wants mine >:) *maniacal laughter*

At least he’s being honest. I appreciate honesty from people whom I’m giving my money to.

    What About Australia?

    • DarkToonLink

I understand it’ll still be available at launch in Australia.

    Translations perhaps?

  • lumpy182

    What. The actual. Frig.
It can’t be localisation, as he said “its due to things outside of development” and locallisation from NA to UK is pretty much none existant nowadays.

Well all they really need to do is change some ‘Z’s to ‘S’s and add a ‘U’ to some words.

    My launch title D:

Well i might get it then i didnt consider it for now cause i need other games for the wii u

  • storabajskorven

Maybe it’s about something in the game that is copyrighted differently in Europe. Remember that they had to change the name for Star Fox 64 to Lylat Wars.

“Trust me. I want your money.” Haha at least he’s not trying to hide it. This news saddens me though, it’s one of my most anticipated Wii U games along with Lego City Undercover.

Well. This was actually news to me, I really did think we KNEW the reason for which it comes to Europe much later.

@Johnny Rider; well… If by Europe we meant “UK”, then yes, however, some games released in Europe will have Spanish, French, German (and such) translations.

And I thought this was actually THE reason. See, I’ve been under the impression that they want to translate the game into several European languages such as those mentioned above, which would take quite some time – I imagine – especially with a game like this (which is basically a dictionary where every word has an associated animation able to interact with all the other animations….)

What the hell who says that…… “I want your money.” Never have i ever heard a developer or a sales man say that. Yes of course thats what they want obviously but you dont say that….. Wow -_-

    • Soeroah

Slaczka’s always been a fairly down-to-earth developer. Doesn’t seem so strange to me that he’d put on an act when he knows how gamers would interpret things anyway.

Actually earns more of my respect, really.

    • Tecpedz94

Hmm ya i guess you do have a point there but i still find it quite odd lmao

  • Bewoulf2000

Its gotta be translation. You got German, English, Polish, idk. Like the entire dictionary has to be slapped into this game and get corresponded with a object. And with that many langues its only right it would take a while.
