Rumor: Wii U to be released on 6th of December in Australia?

An anonymous retailer has told Kotaku that the Wii U will be released in Australia on December 6th. This date is a Thursday, which would make sense schedule-wise, and the Wii was released on December 7th, so there’s that connection too. This sounds like a fairly solid bet to me, but it’s still definitely a rumour.

    Kotaku said Versus XIII was cancelled, that didn’t turn out true. Honestly Kotaku has been going down hill since Crecente and Mcwhetor left.

No one has been able to answer this and I would like to know cause from this, it’ll depend on me buying the WiiU (I still think it’s a stupid name but whatever) anyway, I want to know if I need Wii remotes to fully enjoy the experience, I don’t have a Wii ergo no Wii remotes nor anything, do I need ‘em to fully enjoy the WiiU experience?
