Rumor: Miiverse (and some other features) to not be available at launch of the Wii U?

According to a trusted source via NeoGAF, a collection of Wii U features might not be available when the console launches, but be rolled-out over time to “avoid customers being overwhelmed”. Features that seem like they’ll fall by the way-side include support for two GamePads, along with support for NFC. The biggest feature that might not make it, however, is Miiverse. All of this is still a rumour for the moment though, so don’t proclaim the end of the world just yet.

    Isn’t Miiverse the menu system as well as the messaging system, maybe they mean part of it like video chat or something.

    NeoGAF is NOT a trusted source. Personally, I don’t trust that poster. The Wii U WILL have Miiverse and, in the near future, the compatibility of using NFC.

      I thought Miiverse was like the main part of the Wii U at first. How could it not have it. I don’t think it’s true :P

    Iwata said Miiverse will be the home menu or something for Wii U.

    I dont thinkit will be Miiverse when the wii u launches – because its MiiVerse that is”The first thing you see when you turn your console on”(Regiie in one of the Nintendo Direct)
    If that would not be available – how would the startup look like?
    Maybe , but I dont guess this is the case, the Mii Verse itself will not have online features(until the console launched everywhere) from the beginning-why ever…-But u will be able to browse-because this is a thing Nintendo promised will be available from tthe Wii Us launch day.

      becuz nintendo is supposed to make money from the wii u. bs like this, will at least make people wait a year later until it goes on sale, or just buy a wii u used. or just keep their xbox.

    I can’t see Nintendo making the same mistake as with 3ds, and releasing the system wihout one of its key features (miiverse in this case.) So this is most likely false.

    That might actually be true, considering EA said that FIFA 13 is going to miss a lot of features on Wii U because ”nintendo don’t have their online together” yet.. or something. But EA’s just lame anyways in my personal opinion.

    Nintendo clearly stated at E3 and there Pre E3 show that Miiverse and other things won’t come on the first day..

      No, they said Miiverse may not be on OTHER consoles at launch, the other things though you are correct. As long as Miiverse is on the Wii U at launch, I’m happy.

    Did you see the miiverse features in NSMBU? I doubt they would realease it without the miiverse features.An update would be a lot of work and cost alot too.So I doubt the rumor.

    Nintendo said that the first thing you’d see when booting up the Wii U is Miiverse. How can they NOT have it day 1?
