Reggie explains the launch window for the Wii U

There are lots of games coming to the Wii U within the launch window. But what is “the launch window”? Reggie Fils-Aime, the President of Nintendo of America, has explained that the launch window is up to and including the three or four months after the launch.

      @Umbaku Chill out and listen to me.First of all Nintendo isn’t done with Wii U.It usually takes a while for devs to fully maximize the power of a console.I mean when the ps3 and x360 came out the graphics weren’t to impressive but new games like Tomb Raider look amazing.And that’s probably the reason why Nintendo didn’t announce a Zelda or Metroid game yet because they,re still trying to max out the Wii U’s potential so they can give us the best possible experience.That’s what Nintendo does.

      Can’t really judge a system on its first year or so on graphics. Besides Nintendo isn’t known to go for high graphic games but fun games. If the games don’t look good to you then you’ll have to wait until more are announced/released. For now chill the heck out kid.

      Hate to say it, but he’s partially right. Nothing showed how much more powerful the console is compared to the PS3, if it even is more powerful. I’m not going to buy another console that will just be outdated in two years. The game line up for launch is good, but what about after that? I see four games that I would get, but will those games carry me for 4 months?

Plus we KNOW that the graphics card is more powerful because its newer hardware.

      i actualy played it and the confrences didnt do the game much justice, if it comes packaged with the wii u just give it a try its better then what they made it out to seem (they did make it semm like shit but it really isnt)

      NintendoLand may be fun and all that, but if it doesnt have some depth and variety (to each minigame), and solo online gameplay, there really isnt much to do with it after one day.

    When I see “launch window” I think of the 3DS’ launch window. Aka non of the good games came out until as late as possible, or got delayed. I rather know day#1 titles.

    I have to say that is so silly. What was the point of Nintendo telling us they learn from the nintendo 3ds seem like that was all lies. Took a year for Nintendo 3ds to have lots of gpod games. I am a Nintendo fan but we do not want to hear about launch window crap can be delay over a year look at nintedo 3ds most of those launch window games were all delay. we wany first day release games tell us what games come out day one when the wii u release. Also why the hell nintedo tease us with a black Wii U when it is not going to release yet and they don’t want to give a date. So we are stuck with the white Wii U for some time.

      You can read all the specifications on E3.nintendo.com when you click on WiiU at the top Banner, but indeed sad they didnt gave a launch date or price.
