I’m don’t like the way Ubisoft uses the word “exclusive”. They said that Rayman Legends on the Wii U was an exclusive. But now they’re saying that they’re “not really saying it’s a Wii U exclusive”. Ugh, Ubisoft. Ugh.

  • Caius

When they realize that fans of the game currently is turned off by this they will keep it WiiU only. Its cheaper that way anyway.

    • Deboog

Why would fans be turned off by this? You’re just a Nintendo fanboy. True fans or Rayman would want everybody to get to play it.

    • Chris

If fans wanted “everybody” to play it, they wouldn’t want it to be an exclusive to a single platform.

    • MikeJones

@Deeboog I hate when people say stupidness like “true fans want this” or “real gamers do this”. Explain how he’s a fanboy? Technically, everyone can play it if they get a Wii U.
But that isn’t what annoys me about this, what I’m turned off about is the fact that Ubisoft advertised it as a Wii U exclusive, only to realize they’d make a quick buck giving it to everyone else. Same with Zombi, they said they could port that too! Seems they’re just in it for the money.

  • TheJackal

Rayman Legends should be an exclusive. Hopefully Ubisoft doesn’t fuck this up.

Also, off topic here: Rayman is the best platformer in my opinion, big fan here :3 Can’t wait for this game.

    • ectoBiologist

Major megaman homestuck twewy rayman fan right here.

    • ZeldaCrazed

I understand why Ubisoft doesn’t want it to be an exclusive but couldn’t they kept it exclusive until the launch widow of the Wii U ended?

  • Rhino Pubes

Despite Rayman Origins being critically acclaimed it didn’t sell out by the truck loads by any means. I really don’t care if it is not an exclusive. Timed Exclusive is good enough, same goes for ZombiU

  • Ness

    FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Ryan

But Legends would be pretty hard to replicate on other consoles, especially with that new character that requires the touch screen for control.

    • supermajora1

For a PS3 version you could use the Vita for that. And you may even be able to use smart glass for Xbox 360.

    • http://wiiublog.com Pops_waka waka

at this guy^ But u got to think those things are not the wii u gamepad there not as big only one of the two u mentioned are made for the console so if anything ubisoft would be down grading the PS3 and Xbox version.

    • abe

people dont seem to understand A) they said the same about red steel B) yes you COULD use Xbox Smartglass and PS3/Vita combo to play Wii U games like ZombiU but both require you to buy a second device. So Ubisoft would have to make a game that a select few console owners

    • http://wiiublog.com Jared

Abe u couldnt use the PS Vita to play games like zambiU or rayman yeah its compatable but it is not a controller with a 6 inch screen neather is smartglass really. If PS Vita can do that then the 3DS can too. And if the 3ds can do it then why have to wii u game pads at your house.

    • http://wiiublog.com Jared

Or even make the wii u able to handle 2 wii u game pads

    • abe

Sony annouced Wii U esc cross play with vita and ps3 at E3

also apprently my meaning wasnt clear, i agree they cant do the same as the Wii U and even if they could Companies wouldnt take the risk of making say zombiU multiformat. because the only people who could play it are those who have both vita/ps3. its the same reason why there was only like 2 games that used the gamecube gba wire

  • Kamkid

They never said it was exclusive. You all just assumed that.

    • Rhino Pubes

      Excatly.

      Nope. They said exclusive.

“We then have Rayman Legends, which is a Wii U exclusive title on the Rayman brand.”

Its all on this link in the very first paragraph of what Xavier Piox (the guy who runs Ubisoft France) said in his interview.

I’m not sure if my comment made it through… Apparently its stuck in moderation…

I commented on that. Apparently my comment is “Awaiting Moderation”. Whatever that means.

  • Captain Falcon

    “I’m don’t like…”
    fix it :)

I don’t really mind; besides the Wii U version would just be like a Blu Ray version compared to the other versions.

  • MadCrain

Ubisoft possibly saw the good feedback and said, Fuck that, lets make some more dough!

    • Peskiest

      ^THIS

(and for the record, no I’m not a Rayman fan so I don’t care if it’s an exclusive, but I do know that Ubi is a greedy “money whore”.)

  • the psvita is better

well to be fair ubisoft are kinda of assholes, like during the wii and ds period they released some good games, but most of the time they just used them for shovelware
i hope that not the case with the wii u and 3ds

    • http://wiiublog.com Pops_waka waka

      Sorry but what is shovelware

    • http://youtube.com/user/pyroblock pyroblock

      shitty games

    • the psvita is better

like the imagine series for the ds

  • Bigpete849

50% of the time, Ubisoft ticks me off. This is in that 50%.

  • Zebra

    Dagnabbit, Ubi!

  • Slojoz

probably not wii u exclusive but nintendo exclusive… for wii u and 3ds

  • dubYA

I hope it stays exclusive, and it probably will for a while. However, I think Ubisoft won’t rule out porting it to PS360 because of Vita crossplay and Xbox Smartglass.

  • Perry

    Ugh-bisoft

  • bill

    Why does this matter?

    • MadCrain

Because if there is a AAA title in the Wii U, it will sell more, if it can go on any system, why buy it on the Wii U? Plus, if you only have a PS3 or 360 and LOVE rayman, it might hype you to buy a Wii U, I personally don’t care.

    • unknown

      Because Wii U is better.

  • toker

i can trust in ubisoft, wii u may be could be an exclusive title for wii u but may be will be on xbox 360 or ps3, they’re not serius. nintendo must to be sometime some persons choose his console thinking on exclusive games for the consoles like zelda on nintendo consoles.

  • Deboog

Average thought process of a Nintendo fanboy:

“We need more games from other consoles to by on the Wii U, and that’s good. But how DARE Ubisoft try to port our beloved game (which was never an exclusive) to another console. NOBODY should be happy except people who own the same console as me.

  • David Garcia

I believe when they said “exclusive ” to the Wii U, they were referring to the features and not the game itself.

  • Dan

Same deal with Zombi U. I guess to Ubisoft, “exclusive” means “coming to this console first.”

Still, I wonder how other versions would stack up to the Wii U version when they won’t include the touchscreen features.

    • Ice Climbers

ZombiU is confirmed to be Wii U exclusive. The other consoles won’t get ZombiU.

I’m not thrilled about this not being an exclusive, because that means the graphics will likely be toned down on the Wii U version so they can port more easily to the 360/PS3. The graphics shown for Rayman Legends on Wii U look beautiful, and it would be a shame for Ubisoft to make the Wii U version look worse just for some extra dough when they’ll be getting plenty from Assassins Creed 3 and Just Dance 4.

  • TheWord

Pretty sure only reps said it was exclusive, who know nothing about the game except that it has features exclusive to the Wii U console.

  • BlueHawk007

I’m not really sure how the game would work on other platforms though. It seems you require the green guy A LOT when it was shown at E3 in almost every level they showed.

  • http://wiiublog.com Jared

We all know the Wii U version is the one to buy i mean come on A new character and better graphics!

  • http://youtube.com/the8guys Dylan

    David you made a typo fix it! “I’m don’t like…” its “I don’t like…” :D

  • Divad

I knew it, If there’s going to be an exclusive game for a Nintendo console that can easily be put on other consoles, Nintendo has to make it their selves. Capcom was giving the Gamcube 5 or 6 ‘exclusive’ titles, but by the end of it it turned out to only be one. Goldeneye007 was a Wii exclusive, until the HD version came out (which isn’t that great when compared to other shooters on the other consoles).

  • NinjaFart

David please check this out, apparently the reason why we didn’t see retro at e3 is that they called during the middle of the presentation and told Nintendo not to show their new game. But its just a rumor. Please check this out David!

  • Kevin Jo

I’m don’t like the way Ubisoft uses the word “exclusive”.

I think you made a typo.

    • Kevin Jo

People beat me to it. Sorry, haha.

  • miiworld2

Well, duh? Why should that awesome sequel be exclusive to an awesome brand-new console when it can also be on other platforms? It was expected and that’s a clear message.

  • nintendofan

Maybe it’s exclusive because of the whole Gamepad gameplay and that cute Murphy character but it was expected.
