Recently, the fine folks over at Silconera asked Pandora’s Tower developer Toru Haga, of Ganbarion, his thoughts on the Wii U, to which Haga replied:

The Wii U is a unique console with exciting features such as the GamePad. We’re currently thinking of fun ideas using these features. For example, we’re thinking of a gameplay idea that uses two screens from different perspectives, like a tabletop RPG, where players could potentially give each other objectives and progress through the game. Or like with Miiverse, where players can share their gameplay experiences easily, we were thinking of a game that focuses on communication.

But regardless of any ideas that we could potentially realize, as a developer we need to focus on how welcoming it is to the players. We took this approach when we were originally only going to use one Wii Remote for Pandora’s Tower. As a developer, we are very interested in challenging ourselves with new hardware, and we hope that everyone will look forward to our next project.

Would you like to see a game from Ganbarion made on the Wii U?

super-secret-launch (1)

The above image is a supposed leak from the Nintendo company on release dates of several Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles. Some titles included are:

  1. The Legend of Zelda: (Subtitled TBD) Wii U [Possible Windwaker HD]
  2. Bayonetta 2
  3. Yarn Yoshi
  4. Xenoblade Wii U
  5. Super Smash Bros. Wii U
  6. Shen Megami Tensei & Fire Emblem Crossover
  7. Mario Kart Wii U

Many sites are looking at the possibility that Super Mario Galaxy 2 appears to be receiving a Wii U port, according to this list, but what amazes me is Super Smash Bros. Wii U appearing for release this fall. I believe this would be the quickest Smash Bros. release after any concrete work is shown at an E3 event.

The above image was leaked on 4chan before the official press release from Nintendo unveiling the release date for Pikmin 3, and yet both documents list it on the same day. There is no real way to confirm if this list is true, but think of the possibilities.

What do you think? Real, fake, or really fake?

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was revealed to have a sequel today in the Nintendo Direct for the Nintendo 3DS. Many people have speculated a remake of the original game for the Nintendo 3DS or Wii U because it is Shigeru Miyamoto’s favourite game in the Zelda series. I was surprised when it was revealed to have a sequel for the Nintendo 3DS.

What does this mean for the Zelda series on the Wii U? Well, Nintendo already confirmed that they were developing a new Zelda games for each system as well as developing a remake from the Zelda series on each system. With Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker HD confirmed for the Wii U, that leaves the new Zelda game slot open for the Wii U. With Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 revealed for the Nintendo 3DS, that means that the original may not be remade for the Nintendo 3DS. This means it is possible that Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask may be remade for the Nintendo 3DS.

As for the Wii U, it might mean the new Zelda game may be a sequel as well. Of course this is all speculation, but at the present time, it does look rather convincing we may receive Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask for the Nintendo 3DS. Perhaps Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 will arrive on the Wii U as well? What Zelda game would you like to have a sequel to on the Wii U?

What do you think the Zelda series on the Wii U will be like?

Pikmin 3 14He’s so happy!

In a recent Nintendo 3DS Nintendo Direct, Nintendo unveiled some Wii U gems among the 3DS madness. August 4th, 2013 has been set as the official Pikmin release date. We even got confirmation that there will be new pink Pikmin which can fly! Woot!

I’m hyped, are you?
