New Super Luigi. U DLC announced for “Year of Luigi”

New Super Luigi U 4 Iwata announced today via Nintendo direct that this will be the “Year of Luigi”. With many Luigi-themed games being released for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, it’s understandable why this term is used.

For the Wii U, we will get new New Super Mario Bros. U DLC, which will have gameplay featured exclusively for Luigi. This download will also feature whole new worlds and levels. Because it’s exclusively for Luigi, the download is actually only called, “New Super Luigi U.”

We currently do not have a set date for the release of this great download package. TBA 2013.

      I’ve always wondered why the two toads weren’t Toadette and Toadsworth, the only two Toads (outside of the Paper series) that have names?

    Well Luigi fans finally get what they’ve wanted. Happy guys. Heck, maybe the club nintendo reward will be that hat. That would match the mario ones perfectly.

    In Super Mario 64 we saw “L is Real 2013″…. and now 2013 is the year of Luigi? MIND BLOWN OoO

    this was the most weird idea of the broadcast to me. i dont think they needed to do this but whatever. it will probably cost a lot of money too

    I only have two questions,
    1) How much is this, you guys never said!
    2) This focuses on Luigi, fantastic! Can I still play it multi-player? If not this seems rather at odds with the point of the console New Super series.
