Metro: Last Light is no longer confirmed for Wii U

Oh noes, one of our first casualties! We heard that Metro: Last Light on the Wii U would not launch alongside the other versions of the game, but now Mark Madsen of THQ has said the game is not even in development.

The port could still happen and as they write the code for the game they are trying to “maximise” the amount of it to be compatible with the Wii U. For the time being though, the developers:

…really wanted to focus on what we knew, focus on PS3, 360 and PC.

And it’s a shame. I hope we see the project re-confirmed in the future. I’m doubtful though.

    This was the one cross – platform game I was planning on picking up for the Wii U (well, maybe 1001 Spikes, as well). Just my luck.

    With a comet like that and the push back to next year it sounds like the dev team is not so talented after all or they need money and can not afford to dump resources into the wii u specs

    Well , Ubisoft is still bringing AC 3 , Gearbox is bringing Colonial Marines , etc. and more will be announced at e3 , their loss , they’re cutting out quite a few units sold.

      lol if anything i say this could have been the reason the new CEO accepted this “clean-up” job… okay maybe he wouldn’t go that far but Naughty Dog is a PS3 exclusive maker

    Well it’s not a huge loss. It’s not there fault that Nintendo decided to get into HD gaming late. Besides I’m sure they already had developed the game for PS3, 360, and PC long before the U. Also the HD consoles, and PC’s are the most fimilar hardware with devs, Wii U is a stranger at the moment!

      its definitely a stranger but according to what other devs say its very easy to make games for it and the biggest hassle compared to other platforms is integrating the controller

    Didn’t they say before that it was? I hate it when developers say one thing that gets yours hopes up and then change their minds later on. I was never that interested in this game anyway but it would be nice to get some straight forward statements from these people. If you don’t want to make games for a console, don’t have the time/ resources or want to wait till you know the system better just come out and say it. You’ll look better for it rather than looking like liars that can’t come up with the goods.

    this is the Second bad news for the wii u. No unreal engine 4, some 3rd party developer they don’t want to make games for the wii u. then what is the point buying the wii u. i can’t play Bioshock infinite, the next battlefield game, Dead space 3,Metro last light,GTA, new hitman. all the good games.
