Mass Effect 3 Wii U 1 Small

Melanie Faulknor of Bioware has proclaimed that the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 is “more than just a standard port project.” She reminds gamers that they’ve “added additional content and new features to fully utilize the Wii U GamePad,” and explained that:

[The] team in Edmonton and the team at Straight Right was working together constantly to create a feature set we think would enhance Mass Effect 3 and we’re proud of the results! You can control your squadmates, utilize both Shepard and your squad’s abilities and even play Mass Effect 3 all from the GamePad – something that comes in super handy if someone else in the house wants to watch or use the TV.

On the disc, there is also the “From Ashes DLC, the Extended Cut DLC, the Rebellion, Resurgence and Earth multiplayer packs, and a bonus heavy weapon.”

It might not be enough to encourage gamers to replay the campaign, but it’s a solid deal for folks new to the franchise. Who plans to pick it up when it launches as a day one launch title in all regions?

BioWare Says Mass Effect 3: Special Edition For Wii U Is More Than Just A Standard Port. It´s just the last part of a Trilogy that you probably have already played complete in other console.

I´m sorry but I´m still confused by the fact they ( EA) are planning to release a Trilogy Pack for both, the PS3 and the 360, but not for the console that have non of the previous game. And for the Fact that Mass Effect it´s a heavy history game, getting just the last part it´s a big let down.

Man, I was going to even though I didn’t enjoy what little I played of the original ME, but then EA announced that Trilogy set that completely undercuts this (cheaper, more games, comes out sooner. Screw them man, they don’t get my money. I’d much rather give it to Namco and Team Ninja anyways.

  • Pyroblock

ok? who cares, still getting ripped from getting all 3 games -_-

  • Michael Mullins

Holding out to see if Mass Effect Trilogy gets a port.

  • Nintendo_Rules

Does not matter what Bioware adds to the game. I’m still not buying it!!!

  • Rocket-Dragon

I love these games, and would love to replay the story on a bigger screen then my laptop, and a new way of playing it with the game pad. Unfortunately this isn’t the whole story… Stupid move Bioware, especially when your planing on releasing the whole trilogy on the x-box and ps3. Don’t think you’ll make much money of this at all. I for one will wait for Mass Effect 4 and Dragon Age 3. You can have my money then.

Have they changed the ending? There’s a lot of complaints on how there’s only one ending, no matter the branching paths you take.
Then again, what do I care? I’m not getting this, unless I hear something about a trilogy on the Wii U.

    • Tails the Foxhound

Yes, the Wii U version includes the DLC that alters the ending.

Good. Although I don’t know if that’ll erase the metaphorical middle finger that Bioware has inadvertently flipped off at the fans of the series.

This is such a thin response to which actually is a quite insulting decision (not bringing the Trilogy). If they actually came out and explained why I wouldn’t be so annoyed but at the moment its as if they have no regard for Nintendo gamers

    • Bleh

      They did. Ages ago.

They didn’t think it would have been successful on the Wii U, as per their logic most people will already own other consoles which they’ll already have bought the trilogy if they were ever going to.

Makes sense, for the business. Of course everyone aside from the business isn’t going to be happy but hey.

      It’s only business.

I heard that ME was really story intensive and I’ve never seen nor played the other games so I’d be at a total loss for wtf is going on.

    • Tails the Foxhound

ME3 has an interactive comic that goes through (and still let’s you interact with) all the major plot points of Mass Effect 1 & 2, so if you get this you shouldn’t be totally lost. Apparently it’s still not quite as good as playing the first two (obviously) but it’s better than nothing.

I laughed a little when I read that. My honest opinion is that from what I’ve read it doesn’t sound that much more than a standard port, unless they utilize the gamepad to where it’s gameplay is entirely different and almost ground breaking. I’m not sayin that this won’t be a good game but there hasn’t be anything stellar mentioned about the game is all. Sigh, but i can only speculate. What annoys me more, is how they low-balled the Wii U version with the ME trilogy

  • Snake_Boss22

What a stupid Nintendo fanboys EA had told you once if Mass Effect 3 for WII U sell good they will port and other 2 games i think they are right that not port all games cos you a Nintendo fanboys will buy again your stupid Mario for babies only and what you gonna say why to buy games that are already on PS3/360 this game are not free devs give money for this ports i think that Ubisoft Bioware/EA had make big mistake that they make games for Nintendo console

    • Tails the Foxhound

Idiot. WE’RE not the problem, it’s the more casual buyers who won’t be buying this. A less informed person doesn’t even know about this “deal” EA has with us, all they know is that the Trilogy is out on PS360 a week before this, is cheaper, and has all three games (I’m sure it’ll have all the DLC on it too). There is no way this game will sell, EA set up ME3 U to fail.

More over, I’m tired of all this “test” bullshit, and I can’t be the only one. You’re obviously just getting into this whole Nintendo thing, so you have no idea where we’re coming from. Why don’t you hang back and stretch?
