Mario Kart is coming to the Wii U

It was going to happen sooner or later, but Nintendo has confirmed that, yes, a Mario Kart game is coming to the Wii U. We don’t have a name or screenshots for the moment, but it’s set to be playable during E3 2013, so it can’t be too new of a project.

    I’m guessing the name will be either Mario Kart U or Mario Kart 8, but it will be another great Mario Kart game anyway. I hope to see Toadette back, and let’s hope they bring Waluigi back to the series too.

      Im hoping it will be similar to Mario Kart 7 but with updated graphics and maybe a few extra things. I would like it to have some connectivity to the 3ds game.

      Im never “counting on” because I realize that the gaming industry does the things they do for a reason. That being said I would love to see it. And Nintendo is doing it with SSB so who knows right?

    I think the new MarioKart game should be Double Dashers 2. The reason I think this is because one person could be one character driving with the Wii remote, and the other character uses the Gamepad as a rear-view mirror and as a way to throw things at enemies with more percision.

      Yeah, I like this idea. Even if it isn’t a direct sequal, I wish they would bring back the double characters, double items, and special items. What ever happened to those features? They were fun.

      Yeah, just as long as some of the features from Double Dash are in the Wii U version, that’s all it needs. Cuz without the double characters, double items, and special items, Double dash is just an ordinary Mario Kart game.

      I’d agree with this. I really don’t want another double dash, but that doesn’t mean I think people who do want it shouldn’t have it. This way everyone can be happy.

      I guess bringing back the double karts would be nice,as long as items are on longer exclusive and drifting is the same as in ds/7. Even so, it wouldn’t be called double dash 2.

      The drifting in DS and 7 are COMPLETELY different. I don’t even know how you can group them together. 7 has no snaking or PRB at all, unlike DS.

      There always that drift boost where you have to time it right to avoid it! Also I hope they bring back Dry Bowser

    One mistake i dont want them to make again is…put Bee Queen again in any Mario Kart game. Keep the Gliders…please

      Not necessarily a mistake as it is a design decision, but I can see your point.

      Still, thinking about it, how would Waluigi have been able to fit in all those vehicles realistically? His DS model was absurd, but for MK7 they show the full body so it would be a little bit harder to implement him, if ever.

      They could make a new item that uses the same concept as the ninja game in Nintendo Land. Or a second person (yeah Double Dash baby) can accurately aim behind the kart using the gyroscope. Actually, that last one’s spawning up a whole bunch of different two player ideas…

    Well, this one was to be expected, naturally. But hey, it’s more than welcomed! In fact, if they play their cards right, this might be one of the best Mario Kart games ever.

    Also, to the recent news of games, I just have to say…

    Games! Games everywhere! Finally! Keep them coming! Now we’re cooking!

    We need this. Make the Wii U look attractive with these games! Announce them
    everywhere, Nintendo! Make a big deal about what’s coming next! Put a
    little pressure on third-party developers to show a little of what
    they’re working on!

    I know Nintendo only release one per console, but I really think it’s a good idea to also release it on the 3DS and have it so you can use the 3DS as a controller for the Wii U. :D

    Hmmm. With all these games, I now know Nintendo’s intentions. They WANT to take the spotlight in this year’s E3.
