    Gamepad FOR THE WIIIN!!!!!!!!!

  • ScionVyse

What’s the point of comparing these? They offer fundamentally different experiences and were designed for completely different markets. Sure it’s just a size comparison, but people start comparing sizes, then stupid people compare them trying to claim which one is “better.”

You really can’t compare the two. I’ve felt the gamepad and it’s amazing how awesome it feels in your handS. Unfortunately good luck trying to use the gamepad with one hand. The thing is MASSIVE!!!!!!!!!

The ipad mini, on the other hand, CAN be held with one hand.

But in the end, the Wii U gamepad is really just for consoles and the ipad mini is meant as a multimedia device, but don’t for even a second think that the ipad mini is better for games. There’s really NO comparison between the two.

They are just comparing their sizes… But I completely agree with your point. iPad games, while some entertaining, are just Snake-like games. I can’t see how is playing on a rectangle with a round button is an amazing thing… (For the haters, the GamePad has plenty of buttons, OK?)

Your last paragraph speaks volumes to me.

    • Nick

I held the GamePad with one hand when playing as Murphy in Rayman Legends… You just have to hold the back with your palm… Here’s a crappy pic I made to explain what I mean:

    • Kaizar

I also held the GamePad with one hand and it was easier then holding my regular iPad with one hand, but the iPad Mini is also small.

Besides they’d finished the GamePad controller 2011 prototype back in the end of 2008, and then they started working on the rest of the Home Console, and then after E3 2011, they did more to the GamePad and also added the ability to use 2 GamePad controllers at once, and said so in E3 2012 about the improvements from since 2011 prototype mock up.

Anyways I would never compare a Tablet nor Smartphone to a gaming system.

      SHABLAGOO!

yeah there both great in there own way it’s great to have both

  • Timothy

    Buttons FTW!!!!

  • Iyxxl

    I don’t care, Engadget.

    I already know the Gamepad’s better. >_>

  • James Nguyen

The difference is that one has real games and the other has crapware.

  • Flip

+1 if you think the GamePad is more beautiful

    Here’s MY visual comparison.
Which one will I and which one will I NEVER hold in my hands.

  • Hybrilynx

Conclusion: Nintendo > Apple. Roll on 30th.

  • Super Nintendo Boy

wow nice comparison I game on my 4th Gen iPad Quad Core A6X Graphics
and it’s very big to hold and I got use to it after a good HR. of game play
so the iPad mini is nothing to me it’s smaller then what I’m using and the-
Nintendo Wii U Game Pad looks just right every light nice perfect 4th Gen gaming so I know it’s going to be comfortable
one of the problems I have with playing games on a iPad it’s to DAMN heavy gets uncomfy but its fun

iPad is currently only in 3rd-gen. 4th-gen iPad hasn’t even been announced… Also, iPad gaming doesn’t qualify for “Gaming generations”, because it’s a different type of device, like comparing a game system to a computer. If you mention 4th-gen gaming, that means Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.

Gaming is currently entering its 8th generation with the 3DS, Vita, and Wii U.

3rd gen: NES, SMS, Atari 7800 (GB, GG)
      4th gen: SNES, Genesis, TG-16
5th gen: N64, Saturn, PS1, Jaguar (GBC, WS)
6th gen: GC, DC, PS2, Xbox (GBA, WSC)
      7th gen: Wii, PS3, 360 (DS, PSP)
      8th gen: Wii U, PS4?, 720? (3DS, Vita)

    • Super Nintendo Boy

relax iPad 4th gen is out right now and I have it it came out November 3rd 2012 and we are not comparing iPad to a console we are saying the Wii u control is wide and so is the iPad pay attention you can’t put a iPad to a game machine it’s the iPad to the gaming pad look at the pictures we not talking about graphics and game play that’s a different conversation

  • me

hey David why not update the wii u game pad picture at the top to the final version?

  • CHECKit095

    Gooooooooooo GamePad!!!!!!!

  • Inuboy

I’m gonna get an iPad Mini next year, Wii U, not likely until they come out with models with even more storage, the fact that new update takes away a ton of your space is ridiculous.

    • Kaizar

They are only going with the 8 GB & 32 GB models only.

Just like the only making 3DS & 3DS XL only.

You got to remember that Nintendo NEVER makes redesign consoles.

We’re lucky to even get 2 Wii U, plus Nintendo isn’t make that much of a profit off each Wii U and they need to pay for Nintendo Network…..so they don’t have any options for any newer models.

Nintendo is just going to be focusing on Nintendo Network & firmware updates to shorten the source codes for the 3DS & Wii U & shorten their game source codes as well…..which is why Mario Kart 7 only takes 1 GB instead of 3 to 5 GB.

besides if you were paying any attention, you would have known that Nintendo products are all about external storage only……like 32 GB SD cards for the 3DS & 2 TB Hard Drives for the Wii U which are really cheap now.

      WE THE BEST!

    • Kaizar

They sell “Ultra 32 GB SD cards” for $30.

And they sell “2 TB Hard Drives” for $100 to $110 each (USB Connection).

      THIRD POWER!

  • Super Nintendo Boy

are you talking about the iPad update
