Hands-on with The Cave

Casey Baker of Destructoid got some hands-on time with The Cave at PAX Prime 2012, and although the demo “didn’t exactly give [him] a great idea of the exact scope of the game”, his time with the game “was certainly enjoyable and the brief demo”, and:

…left me intrigued as to what the cave itself will symbolize for the various characters and their quests.

You can read the full preview for his complete impressions.

I haven’t played the game yet, so I can’t outright judge it in earnest yet, but from the looks of the demo I was able to see, I’m surprised as to just how boring this game seems to be compared to other titles from Double Take. I mean, compared to other work from Double Take and to most platformers in general, this game doesn’t seem to be anything special so far. But hey, maybe it’s still in development and just too early to tell at this point.

Dammit! You’re right. My mistake. It rolled out of my fingers so easily. I am…ashamed. I have insulted the creators of Psychonauts. I am…unworthy.
