Frozenbyte announces downloadable content for Trine 2 — and yes, it’s coming to the Wii U

Frozenbyte has announced Goblin Menace, a new downloadable content package for Trine 2 that includes:

…an all-new campaign spanning six unique levels, further improving the award-winning visuals of the original Trine 2. In addition, Goblin Menace features new skills that are also playable in the original game, and all the general improvements and tweaks will be available to all players.

But because the package will be released before the Wii U version of the game is available, all of this content will be included within the Wii U version for free. There’s a trailer for the DLC that you can find after the break.

    When I saw the trailer for Trine 2: Director’s Cut for the Wii U, I was completely stunned. The graphics looked incredibly beautiful and epic. I’m sure the play control will be great and intuitive… and you have complete freedom to play it on your HDTV or on the Game Pad.
    This is truly a must downloadable purchase. When the Wii U is launched this November in the US and Japan, I’m definitely gonna purchase that game from the eShop!!!!!

    See? This is the reason I’m willing to wait for Wii U versions of multi-platform games. The Wii-U has free dlc that the other systems have to pay for, and we’ll also get exclusive content. This will be Nintendo’s selling point rather than aiming for just better graphics and more memory.
