Walmart has shared the first glimpse at the Wii U-branded cards for the eShop. They’re after the break.

    And you know what’s weird? I can only get these Nintendo Eshop Cards (the old ones) in Gamestop and nowhere else! That’s stupid :(

      I’m more concerned at what happens to your Wii points, are they converted to the new system when you migrate your data over?

      Probaly not. My DSI points are still on my DSI and didnt transfer over along with my games and stuff

      Its complicated though as the stuff you bought with the points ARE transferred over, that much we know.

      So Nintendo needs to let us know in advance so we can spend the points BEFORE the transfer, if they do not migrate over.

    Finally, a $50 eshop card! It’s about darn time, especially with the arrival of full retail games for download. :D

      not for $50. if its not cheaper in the eshop then i rather skip to redbox and $2. or just buy the game in stores.

      It depends on the game. If it’s a huge game like CoD or Smash Bros., then I’ll pick up a physical copy for full price. But if it’s one of those fun party games like that tank game, then I’ll get it on the eShop, and through the eShop, I can get 10% of the game’s price back as credit towards another eShop purchase.

    I just hope you can use the money on both systems, For example : Buying an 50$ Eshop card redeeming it on a 3ds and deciding later to use it on something on WiiU.

      I’m sure it will be. It’s all linked to the Nintendo Network (logo on bottom left), and your account will be on both devices.

      doesn’t work like that.
      3DS doesn’t have a log in feature, the only connection you have is club nintendo and aren’t designed for such actions.
      its going to be like wii and dsi, you have points on both, but cannot combine or split them between each other.

      why the hell you got dislike? you speak the truth.
      people this card way made so you can redeem them on 3ds or wii u, not mix money, same with wii and ds point card.
      they made it so you don’t have to look for the specific card on the store.

      That is true. However that doesn’t mean an update can’t or won’t come out to link the 2 eShop accounts together.

      I believe so. I never really bothered using the points cards no more than once, but I’m sure it did

      they will not do this.
      3DS doesn’t have the app or the “connection” to do such things, now they said Miiverse will come for 3DS. Issue: even so they won’t connect your balances.
      its like Wii points and DSi points. You have them on both accounts but can’t combine them or split them.

      Speaking of animal crossing why hasnt AC3DS got a realese date yet? It was announced over 2 years ago and was the only game at e3 2011 to not have recieved a release date yet.

      If they made a card that could pay for a $60 game, tax would throw the number off, ant you’d be picking up a card that akwardly gives you “$66″.
      lol, I’d buy two $35 cards making up $70 to buy a Wii U game. (idea: they should make $75 and $100 eShop cards)
      Before we ever got $35 and $50 eShop cards, you’d have to buy two $20 3DS eShop cards, and then add another $5 from a credit card to cover tax, just to download NSMB2. The $50 card fixes this problem.

      They should be. These are the US versions of the cards.
      The European cards will have different prices.
