Rayman Legends 6

To counter the despair we all received when Ubisoft announced the Rayman Legends delay and renege of Wii U exclusivity, Wii U owners will be receiving more than just a simple demo for the game. This time, Wii U owners will be receiving an exclusive and free release of Rayman Legends online Challenge Mode in April.

Creative director of the game, Michel Ancel, joined the senior game designer Michael Micholic for a Facebook video giving us more news on the delayed game. Furthermore, because of all the support the team has received from fans of series and Wii U owners upset of the delay, Micholic, said this:

We just wanted to reach out and let you know how truly humbled we were by the outpouring of support from the community and fans about the announcement of the delay of Rayman Legends. It definitely hurt us to see you guys so upset by the delay.

Ancel also added that they now have the ability to add more content such as characters, levels, and bosses to the game because of the delay. At least that means they’re not simple holding out the release of the Wii U version until it has finished development for other systems.

Content in the Challenge Mode include daily as well as weekly challenges, multi-player functions, an online leaderboard, and ghosts which you can download and try to defeat in various challenges.

Anyway, you can watch the full Facebook video after the break.

APRIL!? That’s the month of my birthday.

Honestly Ubisoft, this was a good announcement. Origins is one of my favorite games, and I loved challenging myself to do speedruns or no death runs. So this will be perfect for me. Look like you recovered, Rayman Team.

your birthday? HAHAHA XD thats my birthmonth as well!

The damage is done and any gimmick that they throw at us will not work. They seem to think we are dogs hungry for bones. We want the meat!!!

I’m grateful for this. They could have gave us nothing. Plus an Online mode will give lots of gameplay. If this challenge mode is as fun as NSMBU, (I’m sure it is even more.) It will give hours and hours of gameplay and difficulties. I was personally looking forward to speedrunning Origins, so this can show me how much better other players are than me. Personally, I’m more excited for this than MH3U. And I’m REALLY excited about MH3U.

As much as i want the game this month, at least they’re giving us this to hold us over, much better than an “exclusive demo”, I’ve always loved speedrunning levels in origins, so this’ll be a blast, plus did they say you could play online with friends? or was it only ghosts? either way it’s still awesome :D and free!

Yeah and THAT challenge mode won’t be on till September. We get to enjoy it in April.

At least that’ll keep some sanity in check. Now let’s stop whining, lol!
