Warren Spector has revealed the existence of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and also that the game is a musical. According to Spector, the characters break into song on “a regular basis”, so there should be plenty of singing and dancing, making this is all kinds of awesome. But there is a problem. As far as we can tell, it’s not coming to the Wii U. It’s set for release on the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 in the Fall, but there’s no mention of the Wii U. I’ll remain hopeful that maybe they’re leaving that announcement for E3 though.

Update: You can check after the break for an off-screen shot of what the game looks like.

Hey David, are you going to get a Wii U at launch?

    • Anonomus Fellow

The Wii U release date is OFFICALY around the Holiday season! Certin date? Around November

    • xbox nation

      it coming for xbox :D

  • dubYA

I’ll be shocked if there isn’t a Wii U release announcement soon or at E3. If they have it running on PS360 why not Wii U? Makes no sense.

  • TheWord

    A musical?
    Sounds terrible.

    • cm93

i hope they don’t make it like Atlantica in Kingdom Hearts 2…

boy was that an ordeal to get thru that…

im the only person I know who actually went back to atlantica to get the other spells and 100% the game. My other friends couldnt take it

    • cm93

lol i did that too to 100% it

can’t say it was the peak of the game tho…

Kingdom Hearts, one of the best series out there :D

  • BluePikmin11R

    Epic… I want Oswald to sing :D :D :D

  • Naner

Wait what? Wii and not Wii U? Let’s hope that’s a typing error.

    • KarjamP

Well, the Wii U is backwards compatible with the Wii, so… :)

I am a bit scared for the Wii U with the lack of games. It needs a lot of first and third party exclusives if it is to pass as a next generation system, which it is, to the general public. I’m crossing my fingers for luck, but then again it is Nintendo and they usually pull through anything. They have power. However, Nintendo gamers have a bad rep with the rest for the lack of good third party games like Bioshock and others. Nintendo should focus on third party this gen and a lot more first party originals.

all will be revealed at E3. there might be tons of 3rd party games ready to be announced but they have to wait untill E3 to say it

  • Deadly Virus

I just don’t see the point.. If it’s on PS3 and 360, why on earth put it on the Wii instead of Wii U? It’d make sense if it was coming out in the summer or something, but I’m willing to bet this game will release around the same time as the Wii U… Rather dissapointing :/

      Like I said to lizzie1238.

Not everyone will have a Wii U at launch, some people (like me) won’t even be able to get one for years due to the price. Yeah, a lot of people are slightly upper working class these days. It’s a business move… I love copy and paste :P

  • lizzie1238

Why are idiot game developers still making games for Wii, when the Wii U is right around the corner? Especially for multi-platform games like this, then they won’t be forced to downgrade the graphics like they would have to for Wii.

that dosnt mean they shouldnt also make a wii U version since there will also be an xbox and playstation version

  • Meelow

Nintendo did confirm that they told all devs not too announce new games for the Wii U until E3 2012 or when Nintendo says it’s ok, Geoff confirmed that Epic Mickey 2 is coming to a next gen console(s) on his twitter page, so that’s most likely Wii U.

It’s quite likely that the game will come to Wii U, but it can’t be announced; Nintendo probably wants to save all of the titles to show off at E3 and wow people with the third-party support, which would be ruined if devs said they were making Wii U versions of games right off the bat.

The game sounds awesome, and it looks /beautiful/ too. Definitely getting my hands on this, no matter what system it’s on. After all, who doesn’t love Mickey Mouse?

  • SuperSherbet

There might be both a Wii version and a Wii U version.

    Off-topic:

According to GameTrailers, Michael Patcher has discussed what he thinks the Wii U will be priced at.

You think you could make a post about it, David?

    • Belinni

I think that post was on here a week or so ago.

  • SEGAGIGA

Although the Wii U is backwards compatible with the Wii, it’s highly probable that there is a Wii U version in the works just like with the new Dragon Quest. They’re just keeping mum til E3.

  • anonymous

    omg I hate musicals…

  • bhill

That sounds like an idea that is epically terrible. Who wants a game that is a musical? I liked the 1st epic mickey, probably won’t get 2nd….just a dumbass idea.

  • chris

why havsn’t there been wii u news since 2 days ago?

  • WolfZX

This looks like a screenshot from the first game.
