Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two was announced a few weeks back, and I maintained hope that it may be announced for Wii U. Unfortunately, this seems like it won’t be happening. Warren Spector of Junction Point has said that, while they “certainly thought about it”, they were:

…too far into development by the time it was announced. So there’s just no way we could get it out by the time Wii U launches. I mean, who knows what’s going to happen in the future? But for right now, there are no plans. There is all sorts of fun stuff we could do with that controller, though.

And that’s a bummer, but at least we know the truth.

I was hoping it would come to Wii U.
    Oh well…

    • Revolution5268

whats next cod black ops 2 wont come to wii u but for wii.

    • Spazzy Cactus

but noone gives a crap about black ops 2on a nintendo system >_>

  • James

    Who cares…

  • TheWord

    What a terrible excuse…
And so it begins, the usual third party bull against Nintendo consoles.

    • Meelow

Warren Spector is a huge Nintendo fan and Epic Mickey 2 is coming to the Wii and will be the best version, there where lots of games from the 6th gen that where releasing right before the Xbox 360 but they did not make it to the Xbox 360, the first few years of the PS3 there where a lot of multiplats that did not come to the PS3.

  • Link

Looks like I’ll be getting the Wii version then. At least the Wii’s the lead platform for the game.

    • Grapefruit Assassin

So you think… I can’t wait to see the reviews between the 3 platforms. Kinect is pretty awesome if you played their sports game and I have heard from X-Play that the Move wasn’t so stellar. But I know no one with the Move controller so I haven’t gotten a chance to tryout for myself.

  • Sportsgamer

I don’t care. Atleast the WiiU will have a hardcore launch lineup. Cause people would say “oh micky mouse dats 4 babiez, wiiu 4 babiezz.”

  • Jono

Eh, who cares? I’ll buy it on Wii.

  • NoTheMama

Meh it looks very bland anyway. I’d take the 3DS version over the console one. And whatever happened to the true vision for Epic Mickey? You know, the dark & twisted one?

  • J. Severe

Could be that he’s just restraining from telling, and that the truth will be revealed at E3. However, considering that the game is set to be released in October, and Spector claims they wouldn’t be able to get a Wii U version by then, does that mean the system is set to come out before then? O.o

  • Pleasant

You can still play it on the Wii U anyway.

    • Big E

      Someone is thinking clearly.

    • StarTropics

You take the Wii version and you put it into the Wii U and then you’re playing Epic Mickey 2 on the Wii U

    • George

      The greatest discovery since…AIR!!!

  • sam765

    Since the WiiU is BC…

  • Omarsonic9

aww… well, Buy it and put it in the wii U and play it with the normal wiimote.
:) at least wii U supports backward compatibility
