Deluxe Digital Promotion

As promised, the Deluxe Digital Promotion has started for the Wii U. This allows owners of the Deluxe Set to purchase content on the eShop, then receive 10% of that content’s total value back in the form of points that can then be purchased on other pieces of content. Basically, for active eShop users, you’ll net yourself some freebies (or at least discounts) over time. You can sign up for this promotion here.

David, what if I already bought a game weeks ago?!

    • Total911

      Sadly, it appears that’s that.

    • Rage

You’ll still get the points. I bought trine 2 around launch week and I just signed up for the deluxe promo and it says my balance is 199 and shows Trine 2 was downloaded.

    • Michael

Ok, I just registered and it showed my purchase of NSMBU from 11/20/2012 with 599 points. Thanks Nintendo!

I’m sad I couldn’t get the Deluxe bundle (I was forced to come in a day late for out-of-town purposes), but I still like the look of the white one, almost fits my tastes more anyways.

    • Total911

Sorry, that post was from me.

  • Hybrilynx

i didnt know it wasnt already in affect. unless i did know, but i dont remember.

  • Bewoulf2000

Phew. I’m glad I’ll get my stuff for Scribblenauts. Nice job Nintendo.

  • Manny2189

Ok I downloaded scribblenauts and it said it gave me 599 points for it BUT i only have 99 points in my balance… So it automatically makes you get the code for eShop credit?

    • CBNS

Yes it does. You should have one code and 99 points. :)

  • DanDroid

I though this included purchases made on the 3DS’ eShop too since it all ties down to your club Nintendo account, but sadly no. I was actually very disappointed when I found out. I think eventually it will since the Nintendo network logo does appear on some game cases like KI:U and NSMB2 … I think.

  • Pichufreak

Is this in affect if i gets it for christmas if i gets the deluxe set anyway or is it in affect for the people that already had the wiiu?

  • jonehi

This blows, the wii u delux sold out so quick in my area that by the time I went yo preorder mine (the second day GameStop started taking preorders) the delux edition was sold out

Totally forgot about this, I should have held off on buying Trine!

It’s cool, when you link you account it’ll still give you points.

    • http://www.facebook.com/JonathanRider Johnny Rider

      That’s great news thanks :)

Is anyone else having trouble logging on?

  • disqus_mnmKGQ9KEk

.. I don’t know how, but I think I have this. And I bought the ZombiU Deluxe Package, and a little note was included with the console, saying something about this, and that I had this function. o_o

    • ePik Min

In “ZombiU Deluxe Package”, there is the word “Deluxe” ;)

There is a grammar issue in the 2nd part of the 2nd sentence that should read “….back in the form of points that can then be USED to purchase other digital eShop items (Software, DLC, Misc.)”

Just clarify it seems a bit confusing sorry for nitpicking…

  • RockinCellist

Considering Nintendo’s refusal to have more than one system registered for one account (and thus limiting your ability to transfer games to another Wii U in the event that the old one breaks down) I’ll be holding off on this. While the prospect of a free Virtual Console 3DS game with every Wii U game I buy is nice, I don’t want to jeopardize my game collection like that.
Also, I love physical game cases.
