Batman: Arkham City and Assassin’s Creed 3 run in 1080p on the Wii U

A while ago, there was talk that not all games will run at 1080p on the Wii U. This isn’t some oddity. Most games on the Xbox 360 and PS3 don’t run in full high definition. But according to a Nintendo representative at an event in Chicago, Batman: Arkham City and Assassin’s Creed 3 both run on the platform in 1080p. Let’s hope most other games are able to do the same.

    I hope nintendo doesnt do like the 360 did and upscale everything to 1080p to trick people into thinking that its full definition

      I hope they have atleast chance to upscale everything so resolution doesn’t jump between videos and gameplay like it does in RE5 for PS3.

      The Wii U keeps looking better and better… Like seriously, it’s pulling off great graphics, 1080p, and 60fps no sweat, and more importantly, the controls just look awesome the more I see different ways it can be used.

      We’re here to chat about the Wii U. If you came here just to leave that stupid comment or start some kind of needless debate, you’re wasting your time.

      And you don’t have to be such an elitist, either. I’m a PC gamer and yet I still enjoy console (and handheld) gaming. Gaming is gaming to me.

    Still, it’s a shame we wont ever get to see launch titles like Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros U in Full HD. Those are my two most anticipated Wii U games at the moment.

      It is, indeed , but seriously – if it is running at 60 fps in 720 p , I will and you should be happy enough – if you are not going to play these games with a beamer…
      Theres not THAT much difference between 720 and 1080 p , so I think 720 and 60 fps will be better than 1080 and 30 fps…

      True, but 1080p and 60fps is apparently possible.
      Launch titles by Nintendo are all running at 720p, but future titles will likely support 1080p. So it’s just a shame that the only reason they wont have this feature, is because they’re launch titles.

      I think this might be the same reason why the 2nd game pad will not be used in Nintendos launch games – they got their games nearly ready and then they change the system so it can handle 2 of the pads/1080 p ….But they don´t want to change their nearly ready games so there´s no way they might have to delay it-but who knows what they really think^^
