Aliens: Colonial Marines is “exceptionally hard”, says Gearbox

If you’re looking for a challenging game to play on the Wii U, Aliens: Colonial Marines might be a worthwhile choice. Brian Burleson of Gearbox has said the game is “exceptionally hard”, explaining that:

To make [the Xenos] feel as threatening as they are in the franchise, they’ll kill you in two or three hits usually. That’s pretty vicious. You add different things like where they’re coming from, you have more of them, you have them coming at you more relentlessly and their AI is more.

There’s also a mechanic that will scale the amount of enemies coming at you depending on how many people you’re playing with during the co-operative mode.

    If you were planning on playing a female character in the multiplayer, you can’t. They’ve announced to already.

    So I have this game and Zombi U to be worrying about hmm. well, Challenge Accepted! And thanks to Grandpa and many others I don’t need anyone’s help on beating this game :p

    Are these Alien games good? Wasn’t the previous games review as sucky? Will there be online for this and can you play an Alien?

      gearbox have never done an alien game before but their other games are anywhere between good and great (remember half life? :P) so i wouldn’t worry about that part

      the only exception might be duke nukem but that game came with a lot of baggage

      it will have competitive and cooperative multiplayer and from what i hear you’ll also be able to play an alien

      i’d kind of expect it for competitive multiplayer anyway.. after all having only marines fight one another wouldn’t make any sense and it would downgrade the game to be like any other multiplayer game out there

      Kehool, keep in mind that it was Valve that made HL. Gearbox only made expansions for it on the PS2 :p

      But playing as an Alien sounds awesome!!!

      well they didn’t only make the ps2 version
      they also made blue shift and opposing force for the PC
      both very good

    this looks like a awesome game and shooter that tests out skills nice, i wanna see some 360 Cod Quick snipers handle this Game, lol jk 360 is a pretty good console, but it occupies mostly shooters, anyway cool to see a challenging shower, lets see how ign rates this when the difficulties spike 7.5/10, lol ill stop now xD
