Grand Theft Auto 5 - GTA V Logo

A while ago, there were rumors that Grand Theft Auto V could be coming to the Wii U. Those rumors were always shaky at best though and this latest one is not much better. Basically, the game has been listed on a Swedish retailer’s website and…that’s it. Probably nothing to get excited about. But since Rockstar hasn’t confirmed the game’s platforms, maybe there’s a slight amount of hope you can extract from this. Maybe.

    Last.

  • Carlos

And if they say it´s a Wii U exclusive one they will be breaking some PC, X Box 360 and PS3 owners balls

    • Kreft

      That will never happen.

    • Carlos

I know :’( But it happen with Bayonetta 2, meaby it happen again with other franchise.

    • Kreft

It can happen with another franchise. It can’t happen with GTA. There’s a good chance Wii U won’t even get GTA 5 so for it to be an exclusive? Impossible. I want Wii U to get GTA 5 but would be extremely dissapointed if it was exclusive to it and I’m buying a Wii U. Point is the amount of money and respect Rockstar would lose if it happened would be crazy.

    • Tails the Foxhound

I hear ya, but it’s kinda stupid that R* would lose respect by being Nintendo exclusive. Not stupid that you believe it would, stupid that it’s pretty much a guarantee.

    • Josh

Bayonetta 2 is only happening because Ninty is publishing it themselves. Take 2 publishes GTA and it would never shut out the combined install bases of the PS3 and 360, no matter how much money Nintendo threw at them; just remember that the timed exclusive on GTA4 DLC reportedly cost Microsoft over $100 million. FOR THE DLC.

Isn’t rockstar skeptical about the Wii U? -_-

    • nf_zeta

Wii U’s are selling so skeptical or not its a chance

    • http://www.facebook.com/chris.parlamas Chris Parlamas

No, Rockstar isn’t, but Take Two is.

    • ddddd

Doesn’t TakeTwo owns R*? Which means they decide where it goes?

    • http://www.facebook.com/chris.parlamas Chris Parlamas

Yes, they own them… but the point I was making is that Rockstar is willing and Take Two is still on the fence.

  • Hybrilynx

    so.

PS Not for retail, only for Pre Order.

  • Blackcasper84

If Nintendo pull rockstar that would be big for them far as 3rd party support fasho

  • Kreft

This would be huge. GTA is one of the most popular franchises ever and a huge system seller. Still waiting for a GTA handheld game for 3ds/vita.

    • Gameboi834

      GTA handheld… *drool*

    • Egghollo

I thought China Town sucked though :/

    • DrunkEnShadow

i didnt complete china town and it looked crap but i found it pretty cool for a reason :D

    • I am Error

Same here bud, maybe being a drug dealer in real life can be as cool as being a rich MO-FO dealer in GTA?
lol jk, dont do drugs kids, there’s no cheat codes in real life.

  • xdlugia

Pleeeeaaaase Rockstar!! GTA is so friggin’ great!!
If this game comes to Nintendo’s console, it would probably decrease a lot of fog because of its huge amount of RAM.

  • BellaKazza

Oh goodness I certainly hope not.

It’d be fun if it is on the WiiU. The gamepad can act as the map as well as the cell phone, radio, and etc

  • DrunkEnShadow

I dont see why not..Wii U has 3d party support and looks like’s gonna sell! So this game would be perfect to be there

    • Hybrilynx

more like, i dont see why not if the wii u has the best freakin graphics ever!

  • YayGs

Hoping Rockstar is now interested enough in Wii U to do this. I thought I remember them saying they were skeptical of the Wii U, so they basically didn’t want to put the risk in developing for a console they weren’t sure about. GTA could be really good on it, heck any game could as long as they work with it.

Just found out not too long ago that Rockstar North (called DMA Design back in the day) made Body Harvest for N64 which was like an early GTA in the aspect of it being free-roaming.

  • Alex_Atkin_UK

I think it could happen. If its as easy to develop for the Wii U has suggested, it might be portable relatively quickly if they see that the Wii U is selling well.

I believe one developer said over a year ago that adapting one of their games to the gamepad only took a month, its gotta be even easier on newer version of the devkit.

reading the IGN article on the Wii U Gamepad I still don’t fully see – does the Wii U Gamepad play Wii games on the screen? The IGN article says Wii Discs will be acceccable on the Wii U Gamepad. Then it says Wii U Games are not playable on the Wii U Gamepad.
Don’t have an account there but maybe David do you know or anyone? I’d buy 20 Wii Games if the Wii U Gamepad does allow for this. Haven’t had a Nintendo since Super Nintendo (and DS/3DS). Thanks!

  • lonewolf88

    this would be nice

  • Diamond Ammo

it’s coming to pc for sure and it will be the best version

I don’t like GTA at really, but it is a great way to get players back to Nintendo.
