i must be bad a shadows becuz this is the second time where the grass looks way too bright vs the darkness of shadows.

That’s not shadows, it’s darker patches of grass & lighter patches of grass, because of the particular parts of the gras being different from other patches of grass for what kind of particular species of grass.
