Nintendo has shared a look at the final controller for the Wii U (renamed the Wii U GamePad) via Nintendo Direct. It features clickable analog sticks instead of circle pads, various improvements to the ergonomics, and can act as a television remote. There are images after the break.

    OMG HNNNHGHGGGGG…!

  • bill

    There’s a normal controller too! :)

    • Flight

yeah, the Wii U Pro Controller

  • hamish

so happy for the clickable sticks

  • RicardoSForever

The controller looks amazing. Once again, good job Nintendo.

  • George Tirebiter

None of the photos here show this, but it was also confirmed the other mystery button activates the Upad (I’m still calling it that) independently.

Regarding the TV remote functionality, the button allows the UPad to do this without anything else turned on.

    • 009soulmaster

yeah the UPad is a suittble nickname for the controller. and it looks more comfortable to hold in your hand, i hope its sturdy cuz i hate holding a very light controller. it feels unnatural and akward, same goes for the Upro Controller
(lol i bet this’ll be a meme for 360/Ps3 players when they use this controller)

  • Alex Atkin UK

I hope they consider expanding it from JUST a TV remote.

Not very helpful when you need to control the volume on the surround system.

    • RicardoSForever

And since not everybody uses a surround system on their home console, I’m seeing that as a possibility.

    • Neoxon

I think it also works with your cable box.

    clickable sticks!!!!

    but what about analog triggers?

    • http://blaaa josh with the truth

      they have that to

  • Peach Moore

Woah…big improvement over the prototype. It looks much more comfortable to play with. Also really glad they have analog sticks, and they moved the D-Pad over. Looks good Nintendo.

  • SEGAGIGA

They left out analog triggers… I hope not. >.<

    • Neoxon

The look of the Pro Controller’s ZL & ZR buttons gives me hope for analog triggers. Maybe they saved that for their E3 press conference.

  • donzaloog

Nintendo knocks it out of the park once again. The Upad looks so much better than it did last year and I loved the one they had last year.

  • http://nintendo.com tuly

Awesome, but what color should I get black or white?

  • Belinni

Anyone find it ironic that the U pad can act as a TV Remote while the WiiRemote can’t?

    • brew

      no

    • Craig E

Well it kind of is… but at the same time, it’s a Wii Remote – LOL!

  • Nintendega/DodsonReview

David now you’ll have to change the picture at the top right of the page to match the final controller’s look

    • 8ofclubs

      Exactly what i was thinking.

where are those people that said this controller is a prototype the deserve a slap.

    • dubYA

Lol! I was just thinking the same thing. I bet they feel rather silly right about now.

    • Pac-Man1096

That would be me. Slap it and get it over with.

  • Craig E

I was really worried the analogue sticks were just to be “clicky”, which sounded like they clicked when you moved them… but I’m actually liking the fact that the click means pushable. I imagine if you opt for using these sticks, you could push down on one for ignition when racing.
